He hurt his back shooting a freaking jump shot though. Having a bad back with spasms is a freak thing. Anything can trigger it off. Sometimes you can be slammed in the back and be OK and other times the smallest movement will send you to the floor. Thats what happened tonight.
Someone I know that works in Memorial Herman said the order that came to the pharmacy is for medication to deal with muscle spasms. So I do not think it is that bad. Obviously to put him in a special suit and used an Alias but the folks in the Pharmacy department figured it out. I am waiting for more updates.
I've been wondering for a long time: are back spasms anything like cramps? How does the pain compare?
He didn't even appear to land funny. Perhaps his feet were a bit flat as they hit the floor, but it was a classic jumper from Tracy. I know back pain. I've had a two titanium screws put into my back where a disc was. It still kills me, and it's been a few years. Before the surgery, I had back spasms, and anyone who's never had them just cannot imagine how painful they are. I think we'll be lucky if we lose him for a few weeks. edit: terse, cramps are a walk in the park in comparison.
That is a fair comparison, except back spasms are much more painful. Besides maybe migraine and sinus headaches, you haven't felt anything until you've felt back spasms.
Yea, they feel very similar to me. Of course, because it's in your back, it can feel VERY crippling. When you get a cramp, you just stretch your leg out, take some fluids and you're back on the court/field. The back spasms can effect you for days. I know, even with my small episodes, it makes it hard getting up and down from sitting or laying down for a couple of days. My worse episodes I can't even move in bed or it's a sharp pain throughout my body. Feels like a knife in your back you can't get out. Either way, when it first hits, it paralyzing and you feel like you can't breath. My spasms are in my upper back while, it seems, TMac's are in his lower half so I would think his would effect his legs as well. Like I said, my spasms are really very minor. So, that's a nightmare thinking about what TMac goes through.
Looks like a back spasm is one of the things I never want to experience. From your description, it looks like our season is over. Ugh. Thanks, Deckard.
I'm with ya, Drew! This season isn't even at the half-way mark. Lots of hoop to play. The Rockets played the rest of that game with a lot of heart and a lot of guts. When we've been without our best players, we still fought hard for wins and played with a lot of heart and a lot of guts. This ain't over. Not by a long shot.
Hey, I'm coming from a particularly bad experience. Hopefully, Tracy doesn't have anything that's close to as bad. Drox is trying to be hopeful, and I just wish we had a better record to make that easier. That, and Yao. Now. Hell, yesterday.
610- This just in, the injury is not as bad as the previous injury according to Les. Thats good, still have playoff hopes. The rockets will only miss maybe 5-6 games. Hopefully less.
