All of the above true, but what ruins it for me is that his "growth" comes during a contract year.

Only thing I see odd about that blog is that he's thanking All-Star voters in English.

You took the words right out of my mouth! ;)

My first thoughts upon reading the blog entry were that the words sounded like they were written by a speechwriter or someone else far more educated that he sounds when being interviewed....

Well....at least the right things were said I guess.

I think every rockets fan should be voting for Tmac to start the all star game. I would be amusing for that to be his only game played representing the Rockets this year.

Last year, they gave TMac the benefit of the doubt and allowed him to be honest with the way he felt ... and trust that he was actually able to play when he said he was.

This year, when he says he's ready, everyone must be a little more cautious and after last years drama, the benefit of the doubt is no longer given. This time,he has to prove he can play rather than just say it.

You haters are so blinded by yall hate it makes the garm so much fun 2 come to. I know McGrady has missed games true but when has any of his injuries caused him to miss an entire season unlike Yao? which was twice.

Cruise mode for the 1st half hmmm ok but when the games actually start to count what does he do?? should we bring his playoff stats to this argument? plays his ass off huh?

Wonder why we made it to the second round... Hmmm was it because the Rockets were heavily favorite. Hmmmm we had 2 outstanding defensive guys. Hmmm Yao didn't have to actually guard anyone away from the basket who was quicker than him... Hmmm for once the Matchups actually favored us.. Hmmm yeah maybe thats why the Rockets made it to the 2nd round.

    All games count.

You should have realized that by last season. Spurs and the blazers each had 1 more win than we had. If we had the same amount of wins as they did, we would have been in 3rd place, not 5th. Lets see what games... The portland Roy buzzer beater game comes to mind, the Toronto game where Tmac quit, the last dallas game where we let the come back.

If we had won any one of those games, we would not have played the lakers second round. EVERY game counts.

Microfracture was always on the table as a last resort. He got many different types of treatment looking to relieve the pain, none of them worked.

Maybe he said it because he thought he was? Tracy didnt block any trade, the owner came out and said he wouldnt be traded before he announced his surgery.

Having a lesion in the knee is very painful. I know because I was diagnosed with the same type of injury. Let it go man. If you've never experienced that type of pain running up and down the court you should refrain from this type of attack. But of course you won't...

And the medical protocol of avoiding the surgery is what my doctor tried to do until, as a patient, I told him the pain was too much. If T-Mac ultimately did the same thing I respect that. Because of what you are told by the doctor(s) concerning the uncertainty of the recovery, you have to be sure that want or have to do it.

So you are saying Tmac is not an outstanding defensive guy?

By George, I think he has it.

I agree that T-Mac is a great defender, when he WANTS to defend. His long arms and height help him defend multiple positions. He could block shots in the post, steal from the PG, etc. It's just that hes too lethargic at times.

If he played with any consistent effort at all on the defensive end he'd be
a world class defender. He has all the tools. Why he doesn't i don't know.
    Defense is 90% effort.

Because it slows down his maturation process and ability to play as a good selfless teamate, a guy who doesn't care about "His touches"....

That is how he gets on the court....with this team.
