It certainly could be that, but it just looks like he was fine, he was bending over, blocked a shot on defense, and was driving but dishing back out.....

It just looked like he had a case of the "I can't believe we lost to Utah" blues.

I am guessing you're a YOF, so in case you're unaware Yao is starting to build a nice little 'rep' in that regard as well, at least if we fail to make it past the first round again.

These two guys are in the same boat, for better or worse. If one fails, the other is guaranteed to as well.

Hey DD, you see this? You see that thing wrapped around him? It's what a player would wear if they had back stiffness. Let me guess, you think it's all fake and he put in on to act like he's hurt. I'm pretty sure this injury had a lot to do with his "lack of effort".

T-Mac was not benched. His back got stiff, so he rightfully came out of the game. I can't believe you guys... I really can't. Doggin our MVP like that...

man if anything tmac never lies and always speaks the truth. look at all his quotes. ppl blame him for being too honest. (2nd round quote? wanting to play baseball? loving baseball more than basketball?)

He puts stuff on his back every game......to keep it loose.....as I said it could be true, but it sure smells fishy with Kieth Jones saying he was fine, then at halftime going...."Oh wait...uh...sore back"

He is not above criticism, he doesn't play hard every night, he even admitted it when he played in Orlando....not a big deal...this game meant more to GS than to the Rockets.

It just sounds like an excuse......either way........Tmac should rest up for the playoffs.

i know, what image does tmac have? he's been known as selfish, loser, whiner, lazy... around the league? i'm serious. tmac has been called anything and everything by the media.

first off i dont think tmac is lying

i think people are fed up with his play ever since yao's return. settling for jump shots. shooting ill-advised threes. NOT ABUSING DEREK FISHER. Being exposed against the Lakers when his team needed him the most...

    it's a combination of things...

If he is truly hurt, he should sit, but if he is just sore like most players at this time of year, he should go....

And that stuff was not put on until late.....he sat there in his warmups for the rest of the first half I believe.......so it could be just precautionary.

Look, I don't really care one way or the other, he may be stiff, he may be using it as an excuse (He did just get back from Patterson yesterday, and Bill and Clyde said he didn't need it but it was a tuneup).......either way....just rest him more for the playoffs.....expand the rotation, find out if V-Span and Novak are going to help the team next year so that we can have informed data going into the off season.

You mean all the quotes that use "our" for all the Team's shortcoming but "me" and "I" imposing that unbelieveable will of his??

When was the last time Mac has ever critiqued his own game?? I only hear him criticizing his team.

I suppose Tmac is such a truth teller that he must have never done no wrong the court.

I'm getting fed up with the losing in half-hearted fashion that we have been. I would much rather get blown out, but play hard then they way some of players carry themselves so nonchalantly to the court of a big game.

but not recently. outside of the jazz game, he has been going to the hole. his J is not on but outside of the jazz game, he has penetrated pretty aggressively.

but v. utah, he drove like 3 times.

yes he was...were you watching that game at all? did he come up big in the clutch? listen. i love tmac. i dont think he was faking it tonight, but the guy is soft. he's supposed to lead down the stretch, not throw up runners down the lane and hit NOTHING BUT BACKBOARD...

My god, give Mac a break. Its all semantics. We all know Mac has an ego and thank god for that, otherwise our record would be 28-47.
