I would disagree with that. Luther coming back strong from the shoulder injury to score 30 points is a big positive in an otherwise dreadful night. Of course, Luther came back a game too late unfortunately.

For all we know, they wanted to conceal his injury because they thought that at halftime he could return. That way, they don't show to the other team that he is injured so they won't try and exploit his injury. But, then at halftime, they determined that he wasn't going to be able to make it the rest of the game, so they go ahead and come out with the truth.

I'm not saying that is what happened, but it is equally likely as "JVG is sending a message to TMAC and they are making up this injury to save his image." I mean, if that were true, wouldn't TMAC be unhappy about it? Then why was he laughing and smiling and clapping on the side of the court? Also, notice how none of the rockets players were standing up on the bench? They always stand up! Well, maybe they didn't want to stand up because they didn't want TMAC to have to stand up and if he didn't stand up, then it would look bad.

All I'm saying is that there are many possibilities and there is no reason to try to figure it out. Things will be revealed in due time.

PS: Mad props to Portland for beating Utah...now just lose to us twice and we're good!

 

Just going by the blogs, they asked the trainer if he was ok...and he said he was fine....

Two games

Well, we didn't win, and we're likely going to lose at least a couple more before the season is over.

 

If I remember correctly, earlier in the season when he was playing like crap for a few games he came up with the same excuse. After 3 lousy games, here we go again.

 

Not if he really didn't care about the message.....I think Tmac picks and chooses what he listens to.....

well he HAD an excuse as u saw w/ the back spasms later on.

 

Utah & Houston are considered dark horses in many quarters but they look like yellow to me.

 

Say what? None of them have went past the first round except Mutumbo and maybe Juwan.

I find it hilarious that some posters think McGrady has no trade value! You're definitely not going to get back another superstar of equal stature (how many guys in the entire league can do what Mac does for us, anyways?), but you can get some pieces/picks and/or cash.

But yes, his contract can be moved. The problem? Well, we'll be much, much worse for it since there is no one else out there we can trade for that would improve us, and we would definitely take a step back as a team for at least the foreseeable future (2 or 3 seasons at a minimum).

So the Rockets figure they're much better off riding him and Yao for three more seasons until his contract is up and then they can let him go or re-sign him for cheaper than his market value (if he's still putting up the kind of numbers he's putting up now, it would still be good enough for max/near max money).
