face of the franchise and most impactful players are another. there is no way you can get anyone on this board except Antisonic to believe yao is more important to rockets success than tracy. The numbers dont lie. Now if you want to sell jersey's overseas instead of winning a ring, that's another thing. Look, this isnt to pick on yao, but how many 1st team all nba teams has he made? Exactly, so if you want to argue agout why a team wins 68% of their games without the "main man," and only 40% without that bench player, you really dont have a leg to stand on.
??? Did you see TMac in the playoffs last year? No way does he go to the bench. When Battier comes back, ARTEST goes to the bench. Artest is the energy we need from a 2nd unit, NOT Tmac.
I actually thought of the idea of TMac coming of the bench to have a stronger bench and rehab his knee a little bit when Battier comes back... I thought that having a playmaker w/ TMAc's ability in the second unit will help this team to win more games... Artest is a scoring threat when he gets more shots... But the problem is he will clog the lane for Yao inside and the opposing team can easily send a double team to either Yao or Artest... So, I think it is better if Artest comes of the bench when Battier comes back to bolster the bench since AB shots tremendously well from beyond the arc and will give Artest more rooms to operate inside... IMO
The ONLY way bringing Tmac off the bench makes any sense is if you're trying to limit his minutes temporarily as he works his way back into healthy form. If this is a team strategy aimed at winning games over the course of the season, then No. There's no way it would happen, or work anyways. Tmac is the star of the team, gets paid the most, and is the best scorer and distributor. Other than temporary health precautions, bring him off the bench would be criminal.
Artest is every bit as good at this point in Tracys career........... Not to mention Ron Artest plays a little defense............
I don't think this is well thought out. I think people are becoming better at dissing Tmac indirectly.
