    Yup. Totally agree.

    Even JVG said Artest was a "ball stopper" (his exact words) when he was asked to comment on the trade. Players like him dont fit into a share the ball offense like we should be running.

    Also consider this....he's in the last year of his contract! He needs to get his numbers or else he might not get paid! Plain and simple! :(

    You could have just read my posts on the matter BEFORE the trade.

    Exactly so why did the coach keep these guys in!!!!! I don't get it!!! We were down by 3 and no Barry or wafer in the game!!! Is AD getting to old to know who is hot and who is not. T-mac and artest were not hot from the 3 at all!!! This coach is driving me crazy!!!

    Agreed are starters sucked and we have a good bench its up to the coach to put the best team out there to give us a chance to win and last night he did not do that

    The bench got the lead, the starters pissed it away.

    RA had done that a couple of times this year, we need like a larry brown type guy who plays the players that are producing, not saying I dislike RA im just saying I wish he had a lil bit of that quality in him

    is this Artest's way of saying

    " Get me outta this place. This team is going nowhere!"

    I dunno.. but something tells me this could be the case considering the locker room issues and Rafer's statements...

    Was he killing the offense in Detroit?

    He has a tendency to take bad shots and not play within the team system. Particularly when things get tight or we're down, he'll try to do stuff on his own. Same with T-Mac. That's both a blessing and a curse. How often have we struggled in the past scoring the ball without guys who can make plays? You want to have those kind of players, but at the same time there needs to be better recognition of what's a good shot and what the defense is giving you.

    Give him until the end of the season and see how we do in the playoffs. If it doesn't work out just let him go and use that money somewhere else.

    What I don't want to see is us trade him for some mediocre, overpaid player(s) that is going to mess with team chemistry (not that its real strong right now) and screw up our cap situation.

    If we don't make some serious noise in the playoffs this year, dump Artest and get what you can for T-Mac and clear some room for 2010. Then hopefully we'll still have a couple more years to make a run with Yao by the time we revamp the team. But, hopefully things will come together with this squad...I have a feeling they'll gel when the playoffs roll around. Too many hungry veterans not to.

    Man, that would be the best.......Bibby is a free agent this offseason but I don't think the team has the cap room to go and get him.

    I like the trade thoughts of Artest + Head for Mike Miller.

    This will provide an extra roster spot anyone else AND provide a better type player for the motion offense.

    I'm not really going to agree or disagree with anything being said. However, its only fair to point out that in the 4th quarter we started losing that lead long before Tmac and Artest came into the game. Talk about destroying the motion offense... eventually you need a guy that can draw doubles and dish it out.

    Another thing, when Tmac was "holding the ball", some of you probably failed to see what was going on. He just tried pick and roll with Hayes/Landry/Scola and Lee got switched onto Tmac. Lee... their biggest guy. Thats why he was holding the ball, because thats a mismatch.

    #1, he almost always wants a pick now;
    #2, it takes about 6 to 10 seconds for the pick to come;
    #3, even when he get free or semi-free, he cuoldn't quite beat the guy who switched on him.

    that points to 2 things: we can't run a mcgrady+whoever p&r every freaking time, it's not effective; and, he's lost quite some of his physical abilities.

    i don't care if him losing the abilities he used to have is due to physical or mental side of things. the thing that's important is he's lost it. so he has to find other ways to be effective in the offense (and also play good d). if he can't do that, he either has to go or he needs to sit.

    I do think he is SELFISH. This guy doesn't like to pass the ball.

    I understand he needs the ball in his hands, but this doesn't mean that he should shoot every time he has it in his hands.

    In my opinion Artest is WAY BETTER when he is 3rd scoring option, not 2nd. He needs less shots.

    AB or Rafer should be the ones running the show at the end, at least they can properly utilize a pick and get into the lane.

    Tmac is just too slow right now.
