Come on Leeb, the offense was PUTRID down the stretch, sometimes opponents are going to score the ball, you have to be able to answer.

Tonight Tmac was horrible....not bad...HORRIBLE.....down the stretch...and they kept giving him the ball.

Just STOP, he is not worthy of having the ball right now.

He was horrible on D too. Not boxing out, not closing out, not rotating, not fighting through picks, not getting back, and not keeping his man in front of him. Note that MOST OF THESE THINGS ONLY REQUIRE EFFORT. That's why I am steamed.

DD, the rockets scored their avg 98 pts. The Knicks scored their avg 104. If the rox played better defense, it wouldn't have been a stretch. 47% to that team vs 39% the rockets shot, how is that going to help you win?

Look, the same guys that stunk on offense were putrid on defense as well.

Tracy McGrady was LOUSY tonight on both ends of the floor, the entire first unit came out lackadasical and it was not until the 2nd unit came on that the energy level picked up.

Good offense will always beat good defense, you have got to score the ball to win in the NBA.....

And scoring your average against a team that gives up an average of 8 points more than we score is a terrible argument....you are much better than that.

No question, the ball doesn't move as much with the first unit. IMO, the second unit with Yao looked like the best offensive rotation we've had out on the floor this season. Wish Adelman had the balls to put his best team out there even if it doesn't include either Artest or Mcgrady.

One has to go and while they both stink at times on O... one of them at least has some desire and ability to play D... so thats who I would keep.

Say what u want, but if you compete every night on defense, you will win. A good offense doesn't beat a good defense. No time, no way, no place. Why do you think adelman, nelson, dantoni and guys like that have never won a ring. Last year, Boston was the best defensive team, guess who won the ring. The year before it was Sa, guess who won it that year. How often or when was the last time a top 5 defensive team hasn't won the ring? I guess Miami and probably 1 of the Lakers teams of the late 90's and early 2000. I guess the rox 95 team probably fit too. Bottomline is we can b**** and cry, but if the knicks shoot 42% vs 47%, the rox win the game easily. Hell, they almost lost to detroit even with the hot shooting. Defense is portable as they say and offensively, the rox will always be mif pack.

I agree. You'd think after he was 1 for 6 on 3's he would realize its not his night. Why is someone with Artest's size and strength shooting so damned many 3's anyway???

for the last time, we don't need t-mac as a playmaker. we need t-mac to be VON WAFER. get us BUCKETS. this offense creates for itself. stop stalling the ball and MOVE.

that's exactly right (at least for most nights).

sometimes i see the "playmaker" thing as an excuse. it excuses him for not doing what a sg should do in a game. last game rafer had a double-double with zero t/o; that's pretty good play-making to me.

This is an important thread; I really hope Morey is aware that Artest and TMac are hindering the motion offense. Someone has to point it out to them on tape.
You have to move without the ball.. not stand and wait for the ball so you can dominate it.

Before those two returned our offense was flowing beautifully.. it was pretty to watch.
Since they've been back they've been completely wrecking the flow. It's basically JVG's offense out there, where we have to rely good shooting % nights from those two to even stand a chance.

i think adelman is at fault too an extent too, he's too strict with rotations and doesn't play deke (though im not sure if there's more behind it), but yea, it's always been a player thing first.

Man, Too bad we don't have a coach like Greg Popavich or Phil Jackson. They would never allow Tmac to play so lazy. You always see Pop give an earful to his superstar players if they do something wrong.

just a quick look at the salaries around the league allowed me to throw out some hypothetical 'gets' for Artest. i haven't tried them out in the Trade Machine yet, nor am i necessarily pushing for anything; rather, for the sake of discussion, given your post in this thread, i'm throwing these out there::

    1) Ron Artest + Luther Head = Rip Hamilton
    2) Ron Artest + Luther Head = Wilson Chandler + Q-Rich
    3) Ron Artest + Luther Head = Kirk Hinrich
    4) Ron Artest + Aaron Brooks + Luther Head = Steve Nash
    5) Ron Artest + Luther Head = Luke Ridnour + Charlie Villanueva
    6) Ron Artest = Stephen Jackson + Marcus Laptop Williams
    7) Ron Artest = Marcus Camby
    8) Ron Artest + Luther Head = Mike Miller + Rodney Carney

I think adelman still has big time problems too. I mean, why isn't deke playing. 2 games in a row and look at the opp fg% without Yao. In fact, I wish I could see the opp fg % when Yao is on the bench. Its no secret what teams do when Yao goes out.

Tracy is not selfish at all,and have the desire to pass the ball.
The most problem tonight to us is Yao`s absense, and we are always in the disadvantage of height.
Ron has not done his work of attacking to the forbidden area very well and has missed so many easy shots.
but those problems above are not the responsibility of any gurads.
I think when Yao`s back to our team, all the problems about passing and shotting will be solved.
So keep the faith to Tracy and Ron,they will finally prove that they can do ROX a great favor.
