What the heck ever dude !

I don't BELIEVE in taking Defensive Lineman number 1.....there are SOOOOO few D-Lineman that are true superstars, guys that make a MASSIVE difference.

And, in my opinion, I would rather have a guy who touches the football on EVERY OFFENSIVE SNAP, over a guy who is going to make a few tackles a game, and maybe...MAYBE a sack.

Generalities, on an opinion? Give me a break.

    The Texans will win.

Mario and VY will stand toe to toe. It'll be a spectacle. VY would be wise to not let it get to his head.

This is the house of the Texans. If I see a fan wearing #8 cheering for Vince, I'm going to be sick.

    Rich Lord is that you?

I swear this "man-love" for VY is sickening.

I rooted for him at Madison, I rooted for him at UT. But he plays for a division rival now. The Texans didn't pick him. Get over it!

Fact of the matter is that VY is a good QB, we all knew it because we've seen him here in our backyard. The Texans decided that the defense was pretty abysmal and wanted what they considered the best defensive player in the draft.

The Texans have what they consider their QB. Was it a mistake to not draft Vince Young? With the way Carr is playing, the answer points to yes. Is throwing it in the Texans' face going to change the fact that they didn't draft Vince? NO, its not.

I have no problem cheering for Vince during the player introductions, but when the game starts he's just another player on an opposing team and I hope Mario plants him into the ground.

Mario will get a couple of pressures just like every other week that he doesn't really live up to being a #1 pick, meanwhile VY will do what he does and win the game, the Titans are a much better TEAM than the Texans, IMO, bsides the Qb advantage. The Texans got owned by f'n JP Losman at home 2 wks ago. You don't think VY is gonna be pumped for this one. Look out Texans.

Better bring a barf bag or be close to a toilet, because by the end of the day 70,000 people will be cheering for Vince. And running David Carr out of Houston.

Fair enough, but since I am a fan of Vince and the Texans I have mixed feelings.

Truthfully, I just like watching Vince play, he is one of those players that does things that make you shake your head...in a good way.

As for the Texans....I saw some improvement in Carr, but I still don't think he is a quality NFL QB......and it is time to move on....

I hope Mario progresses and becomes a beast...that would be great, but you still have to find someone to run the offense.

It's going to happen eventually. Sunday? Probably not. But it is gonna happen. It does happen in baseball frequently. Sometimes you get the inter-league matchup and when the Braves play the Red Sox, the Braves usually wear thier Boston Braves throwbacks.

Fact is you come up with all types of generalities to make your argument-du-juor. When it was Reggie vs. Vince, you kept saying that RBs don't last long in the league, they don't touch the ball every play, they are easily replaceable, and oh by the way LenDale White would be better than Reggie anyways.

Now that it's Mario vs. Vince, all of a sudden you can't draft a DE #1, but hey we should have drafted Reggie if not Vince!!!

DE's actually do impact just about every defensive play. They put pressure on the QB, can stop the run, and draw double teams. DE is a extremely important position, don't kid yourself.

I agree that LenDale might be a better pro RUNNING BACK than Bush. Again, opinion. And, RBs don't last as long as QBs in the NFL - FACT.

    Look, Mr. Crotch,

I have been consistently saying Young is whom I would take, but barring that I would take Bush.

I don't believe in taking defensive lineman with the FIRST PICK in the draft, and if you believe in history, the REST OF THE FRICKEN NFL GENERAL MANAGERS AGREE WITH ME !!!

    Whatever !

I will root for Vince, and the Texans......but I will never forget that Vince could...no...NO...NO.....SHOULD be doing all of this for the Houston Texans.

Steve Young said VY was the 5th best qb in the league.

    Dear MR. DD,

There is no problem with wanting to draft VY. But saying things like you should never draft a DE or that Julius Peppers is no good because Carolina lost today makes you lose credibility. You are simply reaching for any argument at hand and using silly generalities to make your point. Instead of concocting random arguments that happen to coincide with your current point of view, you should use actual facts and serious logic.

    Sincerely,
    Mr. Crotch.

P.S. GMs do NOT agree with you!

I have a prediction for the game.

    Texans - 31 /// Titans - 14

    David Carr - 250 + yards passing, 3 TD passes, 1 INT

"QB Titans" - 100-150 yards passing, 1 TD pass, 2 INT

Congratulations... your opinion just drafted David Carr over Julius Peppers.

    Good Job.

I applaud you for feeling so strongly in your "opinion", but the Texans made a huge mistake by thinking just as you did when they started this franchise.

#1 picks have been used successfully on defensive players before... and they have been used unsuccessfully on offensive players before. Frankly, look up and down the #1 overall picks list, and there are just as many BUSTS as there are HOF'ers.

Thus, expecting every #1 pick to "play like a #1 pick" becomes a convoluted argument... do you expect Mario Williams to play like Bruce Smith, or Dan Wilkinson?

Had Vince been the #1 pick, which career path was he supposed to follow as that glorious "#1 pick"... Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, David Carr or Michael Vick?

It just starts getting tiresome... if you wanted the Texans to pick VY, fine... you don't have to bash Mario in the process. This draft was FULL of great players... this may be one of the best drafts in the last 20 years, when its all said and done.

I am not bashing Mario, where have I done that? I don't think he is worthy of the number 1 pick in the draft when you have 2 players coming out who are freakish athletes at skill positions.

No worries....and no, I would not have drafted Julius Peppers number 1, but I have never liked Carr either, so I would have gone another direction.

    Actually NO
There were not Daring .. . from the business side
when the Texans had the #1 Pick
they did what they always did .. .
They drafted the guy who would sign before the draft
    It was Business Safety 101
    It . . . IMO . . . was not a football Decisions
BUT a business one . .that was influenced by football

They simple took the guy that would sign and not 'hold the team hostage'

I am NOT saying he is no good, I am saying that I would not have taken him number 1 (Julius Peppers) and judging by the past number 1 picks in the draft and the absence of D-lineman, I would say GMs do agree with me.

I am changing your nickmane to.

    Mr. Fire Crotch !

Mario and Ryans are going to make VY wish he stayed in bed that morning.

Btw... Which VY will show up? ;)

I'm a VY guy, but this could happen. Carr plays with more talent at the skill poistions and he's ALOT more experienced. Would not suprise me if Carr has a better game.

It's just hard to ignore what is happening in Tennessee. I thought they were gonna win 3 games this year. Have y'all seen his roster.
