Omar23, Most of the Titans fans were right back on this thread when our team lost. We lost a tough game. So be it. Most of the Titans even gave credit to the Patriots after the loss. Most Titans fans on this board show respect. Unlike yourself! Grow up already!
Childish and immature ranting and raving aside... Congrats to the Patriots. RM95 was right about my "stupid gut instinct." The Patriots defensive schemes effectively shut down the Titans. Crenel knew exactly when to send the house at McNair and when to blanket the WRs. Our offense looked totally flummoxed out there. I knew there was a reason I voted Tom Brady as #2 on my MVP ballot. The guy is clutch, in every sense of the word. Congrats Pats fans and good luck against Indy. And one final note... why the hell did we have to keep seeing Jeff Fisher and his disgusting mustache filled with a smorgasbord of ingredients? Ugh! PSJ is right. We have a lot of superb young talent (Long, Calico, Woolfolk, Brown) and will be competitive again next season. Of course with Indy playing like it is, the Jags with a 2nd-year Leftwich, and the improving Texans... the AFC South looks to be tough.
I think something was wrong with McNair the last couple of games. He just didn't look good at all, and seemed out of it. Was he hurt?
ESPN this morning was saying that McNair's painkiller injections for his leg wore off in the fourth quarter in both playoff games. Could have a lot to do with his poor performance.
ur joking right? all they talk about is how hurt he is....he missed the final 2 games of the season and has been battling injuries his entire career. i dont think the injuries had that big of an impact however.....he plays better hurt IMO.....still in shock bout last nights game but what a game....
When has he not been hurt... rookie year when he was backup to Chandler. I know the guy's a warrior, but I hope playing in severe pain right now doesn't come back to haunt him later on in life. Watching Earl Cambell 'walk' around now is heartbreaking... I don't wish that on any of the current NFL players
thats a good point...i wonder what the longterm affect is and i hope he doesnt end up like Ali or any of the NFL players that can barely walk or talk.....i bet RIET would love to see mcnair in a wheelchair...
McNair's wife is a registered nurse and she says she HATES that her husband still plays football. She hates seeing him in such extraordinary pain from Monday - Saturday (when the adrenaline is gone). Apparently he can hardly move during the week, and she has to do everything for him that involves walking (short of using the restroom). She really wants him to retire and properly heal, but of course that is not an option for McNair. Kind of puts things in perspective.
Nope. I saw it on an episode of Sunday NFL Countdown during the regular season. One of the guys interviewed his wife as part of a segment on McNair's heroics, in order to get the other side of the story we never see.
Every time I hear something like this, I can't help but think of North Dallas Forty. McNair might live to really regret all those injections someday...
Okay.....if I was going to take injections, and they wore off in the 4th quarter......I think I'd take some at halftime the next time so that wouldn't happen again.
Perhaps his body couldn't handle that great amount of painkillers in just a short period of time. Health is a concern. I'm sure if his body could have handled more painkillers, the Titans medical staff would have pumped him to the rim. He does have to consider life after football.
right on... if he were to have taken a dose of pain killers at half-time, while the original dose was still in his system, he would have been at risk for over-dose as there's no way his body could clear out that big of an amount. And, as they were 'wearing off' in the fourth quarter, they couldn't just very well pump him full of the stuff again b/c I'm sure whatever painkiller was used had a designated dosage time (one injection every 4-6 hours) that prevented this. If that doesn't convince you, just watch Varsity Blues... where the dude from Fast and the Furious ends up losing it all b/c his coach ordered more pain-killers at halftime.
Hey, they got unlucky at the end but they have been the winningest franchise for the past 5-6 yrs. They have been to two AFC championships and won one and made it to the super Bowl. It was a tough fought game by both teams but as the texans know someone has to lose. The great thing about sports is that there's always next season. FOr those Titan haters, do you hate those people who wear Mcgrady, Kobe, Shaq, Kidd instead of Houston Rockets jerseys in the city???? Is everyone in H-town forced to support the texans, Rockets and Suckasstros??? It's SPORTS morons, it's all fun and enjoyment. To hate someone b/c of a team they support is pretty pathetic.
