pgabriel.. I should also add that my issue was always with the fact that I think if people saw Cutler play they'd have given him more credit.... but because he didn't play for a school known for football I think some people assumed he couldn't be as good as Vince, etc.

I've never had anything against Vince. He has a good chance of being a solid player in this league. I hope he does well, just not against Houston :)

Can someone tell me what the issue was with a Giants player and not tackling Vince today? I heard something about it.. what happened?

    See signature.

Vince is a winner and leader and a playmaker. He has "it". Plain and simple.

I believe Young has played in fewer games and two of their losses were by one point.

    Plus, Young is a rookie.

But, keep in mind that Carr has to throw to Andre Johnson and EricMoulds while VY throws to Drew Bennett and Bobby Wade. Wait a second.

I'm not like some horns fans (some of whom only see the world in "burnt orange"). Make no mistake, I'm 100% Aggie and glad as hell to see the Aggies destroy the horns (which I hope is the start of a long streak of domination). But I, like many many sports fans, recognize that VY is a very special, very talented player. Hell I even think Colt McCoy is gonna be a damn fine QB for Texas over the next couple of years but I also believe the tide is going to turn towards the Aggies for the next few years (even in spite of Franchione).

The good thing about ClutchFans is that it brings us all together, that is, it brings us ROCKETS Fans together whether we bleed maroon, orange, red, whatever. Because bottomline, I am a ROCKET Fan first and foremost. ok now that I got that feel good stuff out of the way...

Gig Em Aggies and Go Rockets!

on the game tying drive on fourth down a giants player had in his grasp for a sack for a couple of seconds, he let him go because he says he thought he heard a whistle. Vince proceeds to run for the first down which I think was ten yards away.

Thanks, that's interesting. Does anyone know if a whistle did blow?

That player will probably take a lot of complaints from fans for that one!

Thats why I posted "vice versa," the bias goes both ways. You were wondering why the poster was asking if you were being sarcastic, well, an Aggie giving praise to VY is something we almost never hear.

I think there a quite a few Aggies that have given praise to VY especially during the draft threads. Hell, I was rooting for the guy in last year's USC game. You'll find a few from me and others that raised hell when the Texans passed over VY during the draft. VY would have been the perfect draft pick for the Texans and because of this gaffe and the crappy effort on the field, the Texans still have not "earned" the privilege of my fanship.

For those that still diss on VY it just doesn't seem logical. Like another poster commented, VY has that "IT" factor, something Carr and the other 98% of QBs in the NFL don't have. He has proven it in the NCAAs and now he's starting to prove it in his 1st year in the league. Carr's been around what, 5 years now? And look, VY has already made more of a mark than Carr in just a few games (even making history in this last game). I'll say it again, houstonians will be feeling this one for many, many years to come.

it really isn't logical, what does the guy have to do? largest comeback by a rookie, best performance in a game for a national championship, best run pass combination season in the history of college football. like you say, this guy has left his mark, already in eight games in the nfl. he's on another level.

No doubt, breaking none other than John Elway's 23 year-old record...and Elway was fantastic. One of the most entertaining players ever. An omen of things to come.

mrdave543, don't be an a-hole, brother. Delete that "until Dec 25th" crap. It's no use to tell other people when the sig bet will end. Really, man, it's just juvenile to add your own thing.

I wanted Vince Young on my TEXANS, but when it didn't happen, I didn't spit on a Texans' flag or nothing, and still gave credit to Mr. Young for his great performance today. I still wished we had him, but since we don't, I don't root against my TEXANS when Young plays against us.

Anyway, man, if whoever bet you on this sig thing didn't ask to put that date thing on there, don't. If you accepted the bet and you had some "extra" stuff on there, you're not honoring.

I like Carr, and look at what it has gotten me [sig] :

What is up with the hatred and love of Vince Young? It seems there is too much from both sides (maybe each fueled by the other ). He's just one football player on a team in Tennessee. Nothing to get worked up about.

Yes, because it doesn't factor in that VY has a worse defense behind him and the worst group of WRs in the league.

Given their dearth of Tenn's talent (except for some good RBs and an electric CB/KR) there are only a handfull of guys who would make them better than what they are with VY at the helm.

Not that VY is one of the best QBs in the league yet, far from it. But he is one of the best QBs for that team, deserves to start in the NFL right now, and I wouldn't build around any other NFL player or current college player bar none for a long term outlook.

You can't compare wins. The texans suck. The titans suck. But we don't know what would happen with carr in tenn and vince in Houston
