I don't live in Houston anymore (and haven't since 1994), so the Texans don't have a personality to me. They very well may. For someone like you who may be watching interviews with Carr on a weekly basis and listening to Capers, they probably do have a personality. I don't see that up here. Justin is far more exciting to me that AJ for 2 reasons. 1) just like Domanick Davis, he was unheralded (even less so) and has put it all out there to make a success out of himself. He's the underdog and I love that. 2) more importantly, I know the guy and he's just a really good dude. BTW, I also like Domanick Davis because I spent a lot of my childhood in Baton Rouge and I always quietly pull for the Tigers. But, I also want to see Eddie prove everyone wrong and show he still has something left. I'm not a Texans fanatic - I like seeing them do well. Living outside of Houston, my link to them is pretty minimal. I have history to be a Titans fan and I abandoned Houston before they did, so who am I to hate on them?
I imagine it is harder being out of Houston (what am I saying? I don't live in Houston, either... but I'm close enough in Dallas to be able to keep up, etc), which is actually one of the reasons that giving up the Oilers was as easy as it was. Once they were the Titans, not only were they not the team of my youth anymore, but I just didn't hear anything about them to any great degree... at least nothing beyond what I'd hear about any other team. I recall posting here earlier this season (or maybe it was last season) after watching part of a Titans game, and noting how surprised I was at how many names I just did not recognize at all on that team. That team was a team full of strangers because I didn't hear updates on them or follow them. Other than a couple of familiar names, they're just a bunch of people from some other team.
Uh....by the way, McNair still isnt practicing and the Titans cant seem to squeeze ODonnell under the cap. Interesting.
Why does ZZ Top perform at almost evey major Houston sporting event? They should mix it up and bring in Destiny Child or some group thats more up to date.
which houston sporting events are you attending? i've been a season ticket holder for each franchise here, at one point or another, and never before seen a ZZ Top performance at a game.
He'll play and start. I seem to remember Fisher usually keeps him out of practice to save him for games when he's "hurt"...which is all the time. I think he'll play. It would be good if we could take him out early "Buddy Ryan style", if you know what I mean...
Why is McNair considered to be so tough? He's always claiming he's hurt. If he's tough, then wouldn't he not be hurt? In toughness, he doesn't compete with Favre. Favre's streak is amazing, and when he does get hurt, he doesn't talk about it. He says he's fine and will play. With McNair, they talk about it all week saying he won't play, but somehow amazingly recovers every Sunday and plays. Then somehow he doesn't have any side effects from the injury during the game. It seems to me that either McNair, the Titans, or the media tries to make a lot more out of McNair's injuries than they really are.
They performed at a Rockets game in either 99 or 98 they did an Oilers game one time and now a Texans game. I don't have a problem with them I just thought another rock band would be much better. Like Living Color.
The fact that you question whther he is injured or not is a testament to his courage and strength. You're not even sure yourself. That's how good he is. He overcomes the pain. It's not like it isn't there. I guess seeing McNair in a cast all week is just for pretend. The guy hasn't even been able to walk for almost a year and a half. But he show's up every Sunday and wins. That's called tough. McNair never talked about it. The Media does that for him, and why not, it's a miracle he can even play on weekends. And every Sunday you see Defenders fall off him like he's made of steel. The guy is a tank. He's tough. Don't you think his teammates and coach would question him if he wasn't. And yet, he's the team leader without question. He is the team. The whole team. The only weapon. But nobody can stop him. Even when he's injured. Simply amazing.
a titans/texans fan too, but i root more for the texans but i want the titans win because i hate the colts so i want the titans win the division and the texans have nothing left to loose, so maybe this time I root more for the Titans. Go Titans! Go Texans!
Yes, but their new album blows. I saw them at Xcess in 89. And sorry, I just don't get how anyone could possibly like the Texans AND the tittieboys. Once Bruce Matthews retired, I cut all ties forever.
Sweet pick and run from McCree!!! If only Iouanne (sp?) hadn't acted the FOOL at the end of the first half we would be winning this game.
Nice D Texans. Only took the Titans 1:30 to go 75 yards. Why do teams always play a prevent like-D when they're trying to stop a comeback? You can't give a quarterback like Mcnair that much time to make up his mind.
