I have the same problem, probably even much worse than u. but one thing I do know that wakes me up is if you set up something REALLY REALLY important to u in the morning, or whichever time u wanna wake up before...such as meeting with the girl of ur dreams...u know you dont wanna mess that up.....(I have done that b4 but still it gets me up compared to say......fixing the car and mowing the lawn )
Drink a lot of water, either before bed or in the middle of the night. You will be required to get up for the restroom.
So...if I keep my room dark, then you will be MIA all winter? Cool, I'll definitely try that in December!
The best thing I can tell you is to force yourself to get up at the same time every day, even on the weekends. It's like thacabbage said (I believe it was him), your body will get used to waking up at the same time every day. Several years ago, I used to stay up til midnight and get up at 5:30 (about 5 and a half hours a sleep) to run 2 to 3 miles. Talk about jolting your body, heh.
Why the water suggestion? The last thing I want to do is get up to use the bathroom every 2 hours. Just tough it out and get a very irritating alarm clock or if you can wake up to any loud and fairly pleasant (not quite death metal) music/sound then use that.
Same thing I was going to say. If I can just get my feet out of the bed and get into the shower, I'm good to go. However, now I have a problem where I don't want to get out of bed at all when I wake up, but it's definitely a willpower issue.
It was me, and honestly, this is the best suggestion, though I know it won't be heeded. You have to understand how the body works physiologically. We feel energetic or sluggish throughout the day due to spikes in our body temperature. If you regulate this into a rhythm, you're not going to have any problem waking up after a while because the body temperature will naturally spike up at that interval. None of this precludes partying and staying up late the night before. Wake up at the same time the next morning but take periodic naps later throughout that day to recharge yourself.
I use my iphone alarm with the harp setting. much more peacefull wakeup call than the other options, but still loud enough to do the trick.
I get up for work everyday at 3am. I've done it for the last 3 years. I've never been late, in fact i'm usually 15 minutes early. It took about a week to get used to it now i don't even need to set an alarm. I'm usually awake by 2:30am. I'm off work tomorrow so i'll be sleeping in to about 4am.

Eat pasta noddles the night before if you need to wake up earlier than normal. Best thing you can do is just goto bed earlier. I fall asleep around 10-11pm and I don't even need an alarm to wake up. And I wake up at 4:30-5:00 every morning, sometimes even earlier.
