[TIPS] Negotiating the price of a car

    Well, nowadays with gas price so fjorkin high, fuel saving cars like Honda Civics (the #1 selling car in the month of May, and possibly the year so far), Toyota Corollas, etc. are now usually NON-negotiable. Thats what Honda dealers are telling us now, that the Civics have been selling crazy lately, and thus they are impossible to negotiate on. Other than that, it helps if you've already bought another (previous) car from that same company or place, cause then you have some "customer preferential" leverage. That, and you need to be really persistent (but not demanding) about it-remember, they serve YOU. My mom managed to negotiate her 08 Corolla down $5000 from the listed price that way :D

    SO TRUE. that generation was crazy. my gramps probly has a mil in the bank but still collects coupons from the newspaper and he buys like 50 arbys roast beef sandwhiches on certain days when they have deals like 50 cent sandwhiches and stores them in his fridge until he needs them LOL
