damn, thats funny, we got our cars within 24 hours :)

after my last post which happened after last Saturday, I got an email from Champions Toyota Sales Manager on Sunday afternoon asking about my experience there, and it was a personal one, not some automated email that got my email address from filling out the application for a new car. I kindly responded with a thank you because I enjoyed their experience a hell of a lot more than Mike Calvert. I advise the manager that I didn't get a deal I wanted with a $1000 down (of course this was all a lie because I was willing to put down $2k) and see what they can do for me.

The manager emailed me 11pm Sunday night saying he'll do his best to get it down to the $250/0% interest with $1k down. Monday morning came, he called be at 8:30am, said I'll have more wiggle room/power to lower their $259/month being offered, if I showed up at the dealership. I agreed to come in but want to have it in my color. They had it in my color, but had the tint option already on it. After consulting my dad how much it should be, it was in the same ballpark as if I got it installed somewhere else. Might as well have it add with 0% interest, so I got there, gave me the offer of $259, tried to get it down so more, but in the end, its like I got the tint with it also for the price they offered me before hand and STILL $20 LESS than Mike Calvert. I put into consideration they way they treated me, which goes a long way since I work in the Customer Service field.

So Monday morning, I drove away with my 2010 Corolla LE and loving that car. For those who have me on facebook, I posted a pic of it there.

Again, thanks to everybody who put their 2 cents in getting a car, it helped me greatly as much as ToyCen428. Now to find insurance, Geico is charging me like $20+ more than if I would switch to Progressive, now to compare to everybody else.

btw, I need to sell my old '01 Corolla S, anybody interested? Needs some work and haven't pulled up the KBB for it, but would listen to offers.

Dave, I'm going to just sell the old car to Carmax. My wife owns the car so as soon as she gets back from Houston on Monday, come Tuesday we'll sell hers and buy the Rogue.

About insurance, let me know who you decide to switch to.

I'm with State Farm and I think the quote they gave me for my wife on the Rogue is kinda high. Forgot what it was but its more then double hers now on her Mustang. But it is Liability vs Full Coverage so thats the difference right there.

Congrats on the deal, that's a sweet price.

One more thing you need to worry about is financing. Sometimes when they give you a sweet deal like that, the absolutely RAPE you on financing. That's where they make their money back.

Is it too late to get a car loan from a Credit Union? That way, you can go into the dealership and pay cash and not have to worry about the slimebags in the finance department. If you still have time, I would HIGHLY recommend this.

If it's too late, I would re-finance the day I drove the car off the lot (this is what I did). You can do the same thing you did with the price of the car. Play the potential loaners off each other and go with whoever gives you the lowest interest rate. Go to Lending Tree dot com and they will give you 4 offers from 4 different creditors.

Do NOT take on a loan from a dealership if you don't have to.

yea I was thinking about doing Carmax myself, was going to check what its worth on KBB first.

Insurance is pretty ridiculous, Geico is charging me $128 with Bodily Injury Liability ($25,000/$50,000) Property Damage Liability ($50,000) with $500 deductible without uninsured coverage, while Progressive is $111 with ($100000/$300,000/$50,000) along with uninsured coverage with $500 deductible, so thats a no brainier, I would like to get it under or around $100, but havent checked others yet.

congrads on your purchase, its pretty damn exciting as new owner of a vehicle but then realize your in debt until u pay it off... :p

Just make sure the one he has on the lot is the one you've actually been dealing for over the internet when you show up. Don't let them switch you to a lower end model when you get there.

Get the VIN in writing in the email.

Yeah at first I was looking at a higher end model.... my wife convinced me she doesnt NEED all that. So I went with the barebones. Only thing I have thats optional is floormats and splash guards, and thats only because no Rogue was ever made WITHOUT them lol

but still, the price I paid is lower then any 2009 you'd find out there.

I know I'm a little late here, but what happens if another child comes into the picture? The rogue is a smallish vehicle and has little room for growth unless you're small people. Good deal, i wouldn't ever buy a new car again because of depreciation, but good for you.

The car I drive now is a 02' saturn coupe. 73k miles. It's got to give out sometime, when it does, I might end up getting one with a bit more room then the Rogue. We'll see when that time comes though.
