All I have to say is WOW  to all of you.

I guess Im living in the dark ages..... not to mention the fact that I could never afford all of that stuff.

Im running a regular Sony 20" TV. Ive got a decent Technics reciever I bought about 4-5 years ago, subwoofer and all that stuff. Works for me. :)

I have a 19' GE from roughly twenty years ago. It's so old it doesn't even have a sticker with the manufacturing date =[

The only thing I watch on tv is family guy, rockets, and seinfeld.

Yup. It's their "middle-of-the-line" sub. I honestly thought it would have trouble pressurizing a 20x20 family room that opens into a kitchen, but bought it anyway. Let's just say there are no issues with that. :D If I turn the sub's gain halfway, the windows in my house are rattling. I had to stop Lord of the Rings : Return of the King during the scene where those elephants are marching because the bass was turned up to where I honestly started getting scared the windows would blow. There are subs that go deeper/louder, but not ones that do it for this price. I honestly can only think of maybe one or two other sub manufacturers in this price range that can approach the deep bass with clarity that this thing puts out. I call it "Balrog". ;)

If I do HD, I wanna go at least 42". My buddy had a nice Sony Bravia at his house and it seemed like the perfect size.

I wouldnt want to spend more than $2,000 for the whole setup.

I have often dreamed of getting a powered SVS sub. It will be mine. Oh, yes, it will be mine. (Damn the wife!)

I'm salivating over your system, DoD, and it doesn't help that I'm a huge LOTR fan. The Hitachi looks sweet! I remember discussing them here, and almost got one. It looks like you would have awesome results playing DVDs of Hendrix, etc., on that system. That's one reason I haven't sprung for a surround system yet, because I want really good sound. Unfortunately, that's expensive. I'm working on my wife, though. ;)

After reading so many goods comments about SVS, I ordered their SBS-01 speaker system with the PB12-NSD subwoofers on monday. Can't wait till it gets here!!!

    Haha. ;)

I just bought it cause we had run out of connections on my living room TV, only available spot left was component...:p

Now we don't even have that left...only thing I could do would be to get a DVI cable for my cable box and then hook up the PS2 with component.

Let me know how those SVS SBS-01s sound. I'm considering upgrading to those later to replace my Fluance speakers. You'll definitely be happy with the PB12 sub. How big is the room you plan on using this in?

That looks like you used your camera/phone to take a picture of a regular SDTV on an HD screen, and ESPN Standard. The image looks stretched. I want to see that baby output some WideScreen action flick. Can you get something on there with the appropriate aspect ratio...?

Don't you have local HDTV signal with your amplified local antenna? Let's see it, man. It is a NICE setup.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. My room is 12' x 14' with the 14' side open to my formal dining area. The PB10 is more than enough for this area and my gain is at 60%. As you know placement is key. I ended up placing my sub at the front left corner of the room. It's an eyesoar but at least it's a loud, thumping eyesoar.
