Check out this INSANE subwoofer setup where this guy converts his basement into a box:

I haven't followed SVS's subs in a while, so I'm guessing it's as good as any other sub they build. Keep in mind the one I have is something like 500-600 watts. The one you're getting is 325 watts. I don't know how big your room is, but... it may be enough for you to feel it. :D

You should've emailed the guys at SVS - they'd be more than happy to tell you what you should get for your size room. I actually emailed them pics of my room as well as dimensions. I told them I was concerned about the room being about 20x20 with an open back to the kitchen. I wanted to get the high end cylinder sub, but they talked me out of it. They told me the level below is enough. They even talked me out of buying the highest priced one at that level saying for a combination of music and movies, the one I got was the best deal. Needless to say, even this is more sub than I could have hoped for.

The reason I chose a cylinder instead of a box was I didn't have enough room for one of their boxes. They were huuuge when it came to footprint. The cylinder was the best option because I could stand it up or lay it down.

Hopefully your sub will have enough oomph for what you're needing it to do. Good luck and happy listening. :)

Woot, got my HDMI cable in. I won't have to move the TV anytime soon anymore, until PS3 or Wii comes around (well, both)

DoD, I guess I'll just have to hate you! ;)

I've had one Klipschorn for many years, that I inherited, but only a single one. It puts out tremendous bass, and is super efficient (I once played a transister radio through it, and it sounded good!), so I've used it before as a sub. Sadly, it is also huge, and requires a corner I don't have. :( I envy those of you with great sound systems here. I'm jealous!

    Ok...

Alot of your setups are amazing. Seriously... I envy alot of you BASTARDS!!!!

I'm an advocate for having gadgets. Especially Males. Not women. They are only allowed one...

    I don't have a cam. My SideKick's camera RIP'd a while back.

I'm going to give you the goods in the Gaming room up stairs... It's about a normal size bedroom in a 2 story house. It's not a big room at all, but for what I use it for, it's perfect. The only one allowed in that room besides myself is my pitbull Kobe.

I only have two posters on the wall. A Halo 2 poster and the 2005-2006 Houston Rockets Cheerleader Poster autographed by 20 of them.

A Burgandy Italian Leather Recliner (1 Seater)

Entertainment Stand with hidden DVD compartment.

Sony 30' CRT HDTV(CRT is the best TV for gaming IMHO)
Sony 5.1 500 Watt sound system

    XBOX360
XBOX420 (my modded XBOX...gotta love the name!)

    Dish Network HD Receiver

Wireless Router(for my PC and the downstairs one. XBOX360 is hardwired.)
Time Warner Road Runner Cable Modem.

Speaker Stands and mounts...oh YEAH... NO DUST. Room is clean as hell 24/7!

I'll try and post a pic real soon. I need to find a cam.I'm only 24 years old, but I see myself becoming more addicted to Home Theater Gadgets!

    P.S.

Downstairs I have a Sony Wega 50' rear-projection LCD HDTV.

This Christmas, I'm upgrading my bedroom TV. It's the only room I have left w/o an HDTV.

I wouldn't worry about it. Everybody wants to "upgrade" or one up the next guy. If it's good for you, just stick with it until it croaks. My other speakers in that setup are hometheaterdirect.com speakers, so I didn't spend a fortune on those. They sound just fine to me. They get good reviews on the typical A/V forum sites and I don't want to pay 200-300% more for a 5-10% gain (if any) in sound quality. From what I understand they used to build speakers for a bigger name manufacturer a few years ago. The funny thing is, no one ever seems bothered by the fact they're direct-buy speakers after they've heard it. I know I'm not - I'm no audhiophile and this is a better setup than I've ever had. Before this, all I ever owned as far as stereos was a bookshelf system made by Sony that I bought back in the early 90's. :)

I hear you. (pun intended!) It's weird that I had to search for this thread. It couldn't be more than 3 pages back, but Hangout only goes two pages back, for now, and I didn't see the thingy that lets you show more pages if you want to. Hey, I used to have my Klipsch on one side, and an old wooden sub, with two average size speakers sitting on top of it, for the other stereo channel. (the sub was a tall one, and home built) It didn't sound half bad, either. That was a long, long time ago, though. Decades.

edit: the pages work again. Freaky!
edit: no, they don't! I must need some sleep, lol!

What a coincidence! My male boxer's name is Kobe. You can see him in my pic playing with my other boxer Yashi on page 8 of this thread.

Not in real life... Also the room doesn't look haunted in real life. Also-only temporary setup.

    word.
I went to the AVSforum and stole some settings for my E2000 and its awesome. An excellent TV for gaming (that's why I didn't go DLP).
So you got the plasma for non-gaming right?
