this is actually a important point for those with problems.

Do you split your internet signal off the same line your cable tv is on?

I had the tech run me a dedicated line for my HS internet...adn I suspect thats why I have had zero problems that werent connected with to TW network problems(few and far between for me)

I am having a problem with one of my boxes pixilating signal on certain tv channels...but I have determined the problem is a ancient run of cable going to that bedroom....the dig cable signal needs newer cabling to function efficiently, so if you are in a older house, and you didnt replace the old cable runs with newer cable...you might be experiencing problems.

I had TWC broadband in Pearland for 2 years and could count the number of times I had a problem with it on one hand.

I moved to West U and I can count the number of times I have had problem with TWC broadband connectivity on one hand per day. :( Damn thing is up and down like a yo-yo.

I got rid of time warner's internet service over a year ago. My DSL is much more reliable and about the same speed. However, if you get DSL, DON'T get the cheapest version. It's not worth the money saved. i originally signed up for the cheapskate version and called the first day to upgrade. I have AT&T DSL in Austin.

I also recently got rid of Time Warner Cable and switched to Grande Cable. Other than the guys that did the initial setup, the service has been great, I get the NFL network now (which wasn't available w/ time warner last time I checked), and more college sports channels, and it's cheaper. Though not much.

I couldn't be happier to get rid of the company that forces AOL on the world. By the way, if any of you use AOL for email. Get rid of it. It blows.

I had TW RR for about 5 years, it worked fine for the most part. It did drag a lot right after work when everyone was one. by 8pm it was good though. Overall I was really happy with TW.

I recently moved and TW wasnt offered so I had to go with DSL. My DSL is actually a good bit faster than what i got with TW.

You gotta make sure the bottom of the box says Rev: 2.4. Mine's 2.5, but the 2.5 has never frozen on me. The one I did have a year ago went nuts whenever I checked the guide. The update was only for the 2.4, so my DVR wasn't updated. :(

And for Road Runner connections, they need to be run off of the first split in the whole cable line, without running through an amplifier. Amplifier = bad, more than 1 split = bad.

See, this is what pisses me off. There were 2 guys at our apt Tuesday. The apartment said they don't mind if we got a new jack. In fact, I think they encourage it so that they don't have to pay for it. I wasn't there because I had work, by my wife said they kind of mumbled something along the lines of "you can use wireless or something" and then left. She doesn't know much and she's not much for confrontation, so she just left it at that.

So I called back yesterday and the "soonest" they can get somebody out here to install a new jack is 15 days from now. That's total BS because they just had someone here on Tuesday. Why couldn't they just say, "You know, for $18 we can just install a new jack for you."

They also charged my wife full price for the "free installation" we were getting. Pretty frustrating.

In other news, I tried bypassing the router and it looks like the router may be the problem with the pages not working. That doesn't make any sense to me because I've never had trouble with it before, but maybe I can attribute it to getting knocked around during the move or something.

No, I haven't had that problem. My biggest irritant is when the kids both have programs recording that I didn't know about, and I can't watch a third program until I delete one. You can't record 2 shows and watch a third. I think all the T/W DVRs are like that. Also, one's a bit noisy, sounds like the harddrive. I may return it.

Well i had TWC roadrunner for 3 months than cancelled to many promblems even the TWC tech told me that they been having a lot of complaints of their service (Internet). He was explaining to me that Time warner was offerinf a lot of services that they can barely matain also said that tmc needs to upgrade to fiber optic cables to deliver the services all together cable/internet/phone.. So he actually to me to find a better dsl provider so I did and switch back to yahoo & att paying only 14 month for my dsl with no promblems...

It's like I come home from work, and get back to work again :p

Yeah, the delays in some areas are ridiculous. I've seen 18 days from the day of set up of the order to get something set up. Other areas are like, next day 8am. Seems to be the same split of areas that are having trouble non stop compared to the areas that rarely ever have problems.
