I don't believe you're racist, but I do believe you were implying Obama is where he is because he's black. I really don't know how else to interpret it.

I think Obama rose to prominence simply because of his stirring speech at the Democratic convention. It was one of the few rallying points for democrats (myself included) in the past few years. For a second I felt like I was cheering on my Browns in the Super Bowl (not in my lifetime  ) It was one of the few speeches I've heard where it wasn't full of generic talking points where the speaker could be replaced by another w/ out missing a beat. He seemed genuine and full of conviction. If you or anyone else thinks I'm a fool for that, that's fine and I can't change that. But in that moment he immediately rose to become one of the faces of the democratic party, intentional or not. And when it comes to presidential candidate time, you immediately think of the most famous figures in your party, and Obama is one of them. When it comes time to discuss it, it's natural to discuss that he's black. He could be the first legitimate black candidate and that is a big deal in the history of this country. Just as is discussing Clinton being female and the wife of Bill, both obviously firsts in this country.

I really am not trying to be facetious, but do you truly believe Obama wants to kill infants? This issue has already been refuted by other posters, but I had to at least ask this since you seem to paint the bill so black-and-white. I don't think a vote against the bill is equivalent to a serial killer going for his next victim.

Now, what do you guys think of a double bill? Hillary for pres, Obama for VP, and the following term or next, Obama takes over as pres? Totally unrealistic, but, I can't help but imagine the pandemonium equivalent to Wrestlemania where the crowd-favorite tag-team duo march out to the ring and win the belt. It could be the Democrats' Tmac and Yao. :p

I actually think either one of these people is a lock for a VP nom, until Repubs figure out how to promote/nominate strong female and black candidates. Mike Steele, Kay Bailey...Larry Elder? I guess Condi would be a decent call for VP, due to her foreign policy experience, despite being a modern-day Kissinger to Rumsfeld's McNamara.
