Bollocks!...price is now 6.95 a month. I just came from swapping out my box from the Midtown location on Bagby. I said..."noooo, Clutch BBS says its $5 a month" after a slight pause he said, "that finished Wednesday...assclown"

Oh well, still a great price I think. The sum of it is 6.95 extra a month added to your current service and thats it (if you swap out the box yourself) and I dont feel too violated.

Let us know if any of you still get the Clutch BBS "special" rate.

What's more disturbing is I just went to the place on Bissonett to swap and they are out of boxes!! They said they expected a shipment to arrive in a few hours though.

    :(

The dude just left but I'm waiting for the activation from the central office.

He said you cannot record off of I-control, channel 1. But, you can record pay-for-view if you are on the PFV channel and hit the red record button when the feature is starting.

But cable-cut p*rn is hardly worth it. They charge too much and don't include the uh, well, you know.

    No I don't know. I'm completely naive. . . about non-hardcore p*rn.

I had it in Austin - if you've ever seen TiVo, you will soon realize the Time Warner software SUCKS. Why?

If you record all, it can only record all on one channel... and it records ALL of them (i.e., repeats, too). This sucks if you want to tape The Daily Show, for example.

It also doesn't record shows you might like, just shows you specify. That's too bad.

But the dual recorder is niiiiice. Too bad TiVo duals cost soooo much.

As a former ReplayTV junkie (and TIVO owner), let me just say that the convenience of having a second tuner is easily worth more than the convenience of having TIVO's cool software.

(Yes, I do know that DirecTV's TIVO box has 2 tuners as well...)

Can you explain that a little better? I'm confused.

On Tivo you can select say, Law And Order, and then select 'season' (I think that is the designation) and it will record one version of each Law And Order epsisode and will continue to do so indefinitely. On TW DVR you can select Law And Order and select 'all' and it will record every Law And Order on the one channel you've selected, no matter how many times the same epsisode may be on , so you are likely to end up with lots of copies of the same episode.

Also Tivo has a function where you can have it look for all the shows that deal with a subject , say , Poker, and it will go find them on any network. It also has an ituitive function that will lokk at your viewing preferences and suggest shows that you might want to record.

I got it for my Mom and set it up but I don't use it a lot so I could be a little off but you get the idea.

Right...but the record all feature does have the ability to "record all at this time slot"...so if you want to record all the Everybody Loves Raymond...but only get the ones on the primetime slot, your fine.

It does not have quite the usefulness of Tivo...but its good enough for me.

Really? That wasn't available in Austin... It must be an upgrade. That's nice.

I love my Time Warner DVR. Tonight is Poker Night and I'm set to record that 70's show, Bernie Mac and Method and Red to watch at my convience.

The best part is I can record my wife's stupid shows so she can watch them when I'm not around. YES!!!
