Here's what I know of the rates, to the best of my knowledge. I'm not in billing. 4 mbps 32.95 6 mbps 42.95 8 mbps 52.95 Excluding any promo's that may be available.
OK how about a harder one? The was a Haggar commercial a couple years back. (the pants). A song was playing in the background that went " today is the day your life will surely change......" it had a kinda electronic beat. I never found out that one. The commercial was all in slo-mo and had diff images one of a dad jumping on a bed w/ two kids??/????
I think that was a Dockers ad not Haggar... I got the notice from TWC yesterday, but it said voice mail service would be cut by 2-3 dollars a month (a service I don't have).. It looks like I have to take all the price increases until next year because I signed a two year contract with TW Home Security and I have to use TW Digital phone to keep it connected Looks like I'm paying over 200.00 a month now for Cable/Internet/Phone/Security Monitoring/Premium Channels..
Okay, I just discovered a problem that my parents have, that may be related to TimeWarner. My parents had TWC Digital Phone, but ported their phone number to Vonage. Now, I realize that anytime some of their friends (who are TWC Digital Phone customers) call my parents, they always get a busy signal. How do we fix this?
G's guys I don't know about you but I have had DSL and TWC.. DSL is crap... I can't stand the slow speeds... I do alot of d/l of Music, Movies, Gaming and I can't stand the DSL linkup... Try DL something while playing a online game its pointless... 3 bucks a month or buy my own is fine by me as long as I don't get that crappy slow service..
YAY!!! Now I got a letter saying that my Security Monitoring will also be increasing by a few dollars a month!!! It's not much for the year, but it still pisses me off..
Apparently the net increase really is $1/month...meaning at $12 a year it will take you over 5 years to realize the value of that modem...at which time, undoubtedly, much better modems will be out, which you can just switch and get the new ones from TWC. the worse part about TW is the fact that nobody in between departments knows anything about the other ones. Calling, talking to someone for 30 minutes only to find out you need to talk to someone else, getting transferred over, 30 minutes again just getting up to speed, blah, blah, blah. I actually had a guy call me the other day because "apparently" I was 60 days behind on payment. Me: "Hello" Him: "I'm about to turn off all your cable services because you are late. Pay me $250+ now by credit or it'll all get turned off, and you'll have to pay over $60+ to reactivate." Me: "Who are you?" Him: "Time Warner collections" Me: "Ok. How much exactly am I over? DO you have my account number? When did I pay my last bill? My records do not indicate I'm over" (note, because of online banking, I knew I had paid my last bills. Him: "Sir, we're collections. We don't have that information. You can pay the $250 now or your stuff will get shut off. Just giving you a heads up." this went on for about 10 minutes, with me getting increasingly angry that it was unclear exaclty who this guy was, why he couldn't give me any information, etc. That conversation ended like this: Me: "I'm not going to just pay $250+ without having more information. Why the hell can't you tell me more?" Him: "Sir, I'm just trying to give you a heads up" Me: "Sir, I'm just trying to decide if you want to keep me as a customer or not" Him: "I don't really care. Are you going to pay or not?" Me: "F-off...hangup" another hour or so on the phone with TWC billing, and the freaking morons had screwed up my entire bill. I moved houses, had all my services transferred, yet they were continuing to bill me at two houses. Getting them to understand that was more painful than my conversation with billings. She kept asking me when I called to request service shut off at my old house....it's a freaking TRANSFER! that's how THEY describe it! the date services starts at my new house, it should turn OFF at the old one. god, they're idiots
Got the same letter. I dont even want TW home security anymore but I am under contract. I looked at the contract and they have a section saying that they can raise rates once per 12 month not to exceed 10% of what you are current paying..that sucks...cant break the contract.
I had to do that one time with them, they made me so angry that I hung up on them 5 times. It's things like this makes me hope that more customer service jobs get outsourced. Those idiots doesn't derserve a job.
I wanna leave TWC so bad but for some reason im like 20 yards away from getting DSL. People at the apartments across the street get DSL and i dont!!! Curse you sbc, curse you.
I set up a work order on Dec 2nd because I wasn't getting some channels and the anaolog ones were fuzy...I told them i thought it was cable box outside, as the wires where all exposed and tangled..So they set up an appt., in mid -January so they can rewire... Last night, called to say I'm not getting my HD channels and how come they never came out in january. THey said, yes, the work order was complete and they fixed the box...Uh, no, nothing happened, same crappy box, with wires exposed...Its re-scheuled for March...
I am sure if you bought a modem you would get a lot of this. "We are sorry sir it seem you have a product I am unfamiliar with and we can not help you"
I have been using SBC/Yahoo/AT&T DSL for over 5 years with no issues. Every now and then the price goes up, but if you call and reup for another year they'll bring it back down. I had DSL for 15 bucks a month last year and 30 this year. Works great, and I buy all my own equipment. That being said, do NOT get SBC dish network. If you say the word "cloud" it goes out, it's overpriced, and the service fees are ludicrous. I don't have cable anymore after that dish experieince - the only thing I really cared to watch were sports and the history channel anyway. I'll catch my rockets games at the bar.
I had the same problem with security, again associated with my move. On their apparent 3rd trip out I waited at the house all morning, called to see when they were coming, were told they'd be there in 10 minutes, waited another hour, then finally had to go to work. I called a couple of days later to complain and cancel. Again, I moved houses, and some equipment had been taken down at the house I'm selling, but not yet put up at the new house. I asked why I am currently being charged since I have no monitoring equipment at either place working. They said because of my contract, and cancelling would be a $150 fee. I asked if they had my contract handy. 15 minutes on hold to find out they can't find it, but they do have it....somewhere. So I tell them never mind. Then the lady tries to tell me that I can't just leave it there. Since nothign is currently being monitored, I HAVE to either pay the $150 cancellation fee and return some equipment of theirs I have, or schedule an appointment to get the new system monitored. I am on an old security contract and only pay $12.95/month, and only have like 9 months left. So I told her no thanks to both, and they could just keep on billing me until my contract is up, and said goodbye.
Just got Time Warner digital phone after spending a year and a half with Vonage. Although it's more money (I've got a special deal for 6 months, fortunately), TW is like 10x better than Vonage in terms of performance and service. Displaying caller ID on your TV is a neat feature, too.
I swear, I say this in every TWC thread that comes up, but... I've never had a single problem with TWC. I've had their regular cable and digital cable for YEARS, through 4 moves and have never had a problem. I switched from crappy SBC DSL to Roadrunner about 4 years ago and have never had any problems. I've moved 3 times while having Roadrunner. No problems ever. I don't doubt any of the stories in this thread. I guess I'm just really lucky.
