I bet everything stays the same. You probably won't notice a difference other than replacing Comcast whereever you saw Time Warner.
They don't offer any High Definition channels, sports subscriptions, high speed internet, or DVR service.
in addition to the aforementioned suckage, 1) online billing sucks 2) they overcharge you. Im paying almost $70 bucks non-hd, no premium channel lineup. I was paying $41 bucks with TWC. 3)they just suck period. 4) they are called, TVMAX, sounds like a roach motel p*rn by order service... btw they do offer highspeed over priced internet..
seriously if you can avoid in any way TVMAX do it by all means. If you live on the correct side for satellite, then by all means get DIRECTTV/dishnetwork
Is it the village at west university? I live there and got dish network...best decision ever DO NOT USE TVMAX
We had Comcast in Utah, and I've got Time Warner Cable here. I never had a single problem with Comcast. My experience with Time Warner has been a nightmare.
i don't really care that much about the cable, though i do like my hd channels. most importantly does comcast's internet compare to RR?
Ok, just yesterday, TW switched up here...We had Comcast...Comcast sucks...Different Name, same crappy Cust. Service...
http://blogs.chron.com/techblog/archives/2006/08/report_comcast.html Note that Comcast is in the process of raising its cable access download speeds: The 6-Mbps service will be available at no additional charge to all cable modem customers who also subscribe to at least basic cable TV service. These customers have the option to upgrade to 8-Mbps service for $10 more per month. For broadband Internet customers who do not buy cable TV, 6-Mbps service will be priced at an additional $10 per month, while 8-Mbps service will carry a $20 monthly premium.
With having both companies before, all things are pretty equal, except Comcast rates are a tad bit more expensive. However, later this year Comcast is raising their internet speeds considerably from your basic 6Mbps-8Mbps. I think they are going to offer 12Mbps to try and compete with Verizon fiber optics services (Verizon FiOS does 15Mbps), I have no clue what Time Warner is going to do. Being in Dallas area, I hope they join in.
Comcast in Dallas did... and many are pissed that TW doesn't. I couldn't care less... as long as they offer NBA League Pass and NBA TV. I may switch to DirecTV anyway.
Haha. That's funny... there were people in Dallas that were getting 8-9 megabit download speeds for around $30/month (with special deals). I looked at TW's site and that's about the same performance tiers they're selling up here in Dallas. It's a scam. To my knowledge there were no tiers here in Dallas with Comcast, but I could be wrong. I hated Comcast and their unreliable garbage network. I've been using DSL.
FIOS in the Dallas area actually goes up to 30 mbps down... some areas Verizon charges over $150/month for this and other areas around $60, I think. They're all over the DFW area... except where I live where I'm still waiting for freaking SBC to roll out their UVerse service. BTW, Verizon is already getting ready to rollout the next speed upgrade beyond FIOS - 100 mbps to the home (of course some parts of Japan and Korea already have this... grrr).
So who is going to have the fastest upload speed? Why do we get like 5Mbps down, but only like 384kbps up? Transferring photos or videos to my website takes forever
Uhh..how will this affect Time Warner Home Security? Will they just cancel the 2 year contract? Hmmm..
Time Warner has been very good to me so far. I've heard nothing but bad things about Comcast. I plan on going with Yahoo and GoDish after this..
This sucks because my wife works for Time Warner Corporate in Houston, (not Time Warner Houston division) and we get free cable (with all HD channels), free high speed internet and 1/2 off digi phone! Now what? Her dept is still going to be Time Warner when Comcast moves in. So do we lose out on all the freebies??? ARHHHH!!!
