    And who wouldn't want to travel back in time to be an extra in a Charlie Chaplin silent movie?

    She's obviously using the cell phone infrastructure from a parallel universe.

    In the future we will have cell phones that can call across time and have no need for towers. This will come approximately 3 years before they invent the time machine.

    As others have said, there would be no cell phone reception in the past, so this theory is utterly, totally, and laughably ridiculous.

    She is clearly a time traveler checking the status of her remaining tic-tacs.
