    This is what irks me about the NBA. It has done a good job marketing the game of basketball in the past couple of decades. But I think they have gone overboard and have commercialized the game to the point that it ignores the fact that the fans are part of what makes the game so great.

    We as fans have the right to do what we think will maximize our pleasure in watching the game. When we do that, it can only make the game even more popular, and hence, more profits for the league. Instead, they try to squash everything not controlled by them. That will ultimately turn some people off.

    Maybe we should all write David Stern and let him know that he can take the "fan" out of his "FANtastic" slogan if he keeps up with the current trend. :mad:

    Something I would like to comment on this part.

    Many of us b**** that the NBA is too hard on fan sites, but you must understand the NBA is a business also. They are subjected to corporate laws, just like anything else is subjected to laws.

    If the NBA started slacking off on the copy-rights, then that puts them at a legal pitfall against other people who truely do try to profit from their interlectual properties.

    I hate it too they have to be strict, but the NBA has to do thier job. I myself wouldn't be surprised to come here one morning and find the site shut down.

    I've been meaning to donate for a LOOONG time, but I still haven't done it yet... not quite sure why.

    I'll definitely pitch in a few bucks sometime soon, though. If I can spend that money on shirts, caps, posters, and even basketball cards once upon a time, I can definitely spare some loot for this site.

    DREAM PACK UPDATES:

    Today I will get mailing tubes and tonight I will package everything up, expect these to be mailed on Tuesday. Those that live in Houston, should see theirs in a day or so, those living out of town, will take a little bit longer. I have a great assortment of cards I'm sending out with this Dream Pack, most everyone should get some new and old players. Most of the cards are in very good condition. Expect at the minimum 10 cards, everyone will probably get more.

    barbourdg and CoinToss are good to go.
    I need a mailing address from Kimble14 (email me through the bbs)

    Hasher and Sir Jackie Chiles have graciously declined my offer. So we thank them from the bottom of our little rocket hearts for the gracious donations.
