    Maybe you misunderstood the argument.

    Let me clarify.

They are not infallible. Not every opinion that goes counter have to be wrong.

    Just yours.

Because you are a nobody who posts on a freakin' internet message board. Like me.

That's why I leave the decision making to the guys getting paid multi-millions with the MIT degrees.

This. Though I would add Bud does have his own drawbacks but clearly he is coming along considerably and is an offensive threat opposing defenses cannot ignore like SB. It seems the upside to Bud is very high indeed.

Given that Fernandez has proven himself to be a whiny brat this summer, why would we want him especially since he wouldn't get all that many minutes with Ariza and Martin out there?

    Brooks, Martin, Battier, Scola, Yao

    Lowry, Budinger, Lee, Hayes, Miller

    Smith, Taylor, Jeffries, Patterson, Hill

Lee is quicker than Odom, and I think he can stay in front of him. Odom is soft and if he can't beat his man, he settles for the three pointer. If Ron is in the game, we need either Hayes or Battier to guard him.

The game is getting quicker and Lee needs to eat into Battier's minutes.

Oh yes, lets just trust and never complain about any of the decisions that the Rockets make - they are so much smarter than me! I should never hold an opinion to the contrary! As a nobody I'll just stay at home and bow to my Morey and Adelman posters

ah, nice of you to run away from our argument ( no rebuttle for win share?) and then later refer to me as 'that guy'.

'statistical illiterate'. is that what you're called when you're not drinking out of shane battier's pee cup?

    i really dont understand posters...

i get it when battier does nothing. Zeros across the stat sheet

i get it if his man gets 30 on 15 shots..

I get being upset frustrated over that...depending the game you may have a point...

but there's really nothing here. Not tonight...if anything the facts show the opposite...and people continue to blindly disagree. Not just disagree, but consciously ignore facts.

"battier wasnt on the floor when they lost the lead"

    Can't be clearer than that.

    Quality post, man...

You initially justified your current advocacy of Battier based on Morey's intentions over 4 years ago. I responded accordingly, and you spewed a pile of **** all over the screen.

Crawl off of Battier's back, and realize that no one's saying that Battier's not worthy of PT, but that Budinger might possibly be a more suitable starter. Why not explore the potential of a promising, steady contributor by increasing his workload?

Stop hating!! They lost because they had 21 turnovers! Shane does what he does.

So Adelman blames Aaron Brooks for letting Blake loose for the game winning 3.

    Why Adelman no blame Battier?

Mr. god guy smiles alot isnt going anywhere. He has signed most of these guys autographs and they all have his shoes on while stairing at his poster above their beds at night. He could lift Kobe by his buns to the hoop to help him dunk and they wouldnt care.

Stop being a whiny b****. Rockets lose a 2 point game largely because of a 21-4 run made by the Lakers
during which Battier was sitting on the bnech the entire time
during which Battier was sitting on the bnech the entire time
during which Battier was sitting on the bnech the entire time.

And the somebody decides to start a thread to b**** about how replacing Battier is the solution.

And those of us find that stupid are somehow standing by Battier even if he is somehow destroying the team's chances of winnig?

Maybe, just maybe, we built a double digit lead with 5 players, 4 of whom actually carried their weight today, and one who didn't but could be overlooked.

Maybe, just maybe, we lost a double digit lead because random scrubs started tossing bombs in from the ocean.

Maybe, just maybe, we regained the lead primarily due to the resurgent play of Yao in the fourth with some revival of Scola and Martin.

    1. Winshare is something you find off of basketballreference or 82games. Do you honestly think public sites like that are providing ground breaking edges in a field in its infancy? Teams have proprietary data that you or me have not even heard of before.

    2. There is no doubt that in whatever statistical data out there, Battier is in decline. Maybe by a little, maybe by a lot. No **** Sherlock. That is due to his fatal flaw of humaness. They tend to decline as they trend towards death. But despite any decline, he is still being used extensively by Adelman. The question you should be asking isn't, "Why the heck is Adelman using him?", but rather, "What is it that I don't see that Adelman/Morey sees?" It is incredibly arrogant and ignorant of you to be asking the former. Considering you are a basketball midget as far as knowledge of the game compared to them.

    3. I don't even like Shane. I just get a kick out of all the r****ded arguments against him. "Statistical illiterate" is what you are called when you completely misuse statistics, and then blame it for not working correctly.

Fans are allowed to have opinions based on what they see during the game. If the coaches and managers' decision is always right and you cannot question them, this message board wouldn't exist. Why do teams lose or have weaknesses that never seem to correct itself? BECAUSE COACHES AND MANGERS ARE NOT ALWAYS RIGHT. Take your snobbish attitude and go somewhere else please.
