And he was scoring at will with Battier sitting, too. It's that kind of night. The Rockets D on him wasn't too bad, Lee probably did a better job than Battier (which you'd expect since Lee is a SG and Battier is a 6'9'' SF trying to defend a 6'3'' PG/SG), Ellis just hit everything he threw up no matter who defended him.

You just reminded me of that crap. Seriously, Rick should have tossed him out the game after that. How that happened, i'll never know.

I'd give it a week before I either bench Battier or trade him if his defense doesn't improve.

Looking at the schedule, he will likely guard Carmelo on Saturday, Peja, Ariza and probably CP3 on Wednesday, Ginobili on Saturday, Brewer and Johnson on Sunday, Arenas and Howard on Wednesday and Granger on Friday.

Tough opponents, lets see if he can handle it.

probably should keep track of how he does when yao plays as well...without a guy in the middle it forces everyone to backoff more than usual.

can you seriously tone down your posts where you talk to yourself? It's cool if you want to voice your opinion, but half the time you're not saying anything new or anything we can reply to.

Interested on how he defends guys like Melo and Granger opposed to guys like CP3 or Arenas.

you mean now or you haven't seen him do it before? With CP3 he actually did a decent job in the past since hes a bigger guard and not blazing quick..cant remembr him guarding Arenas...i believe he's also done a good job on Melo and Granger.

We need to replace him with CBud so we can give up more points.

sorry to repost this from another thread, but I dont know if you read this suggestion, that would let Rockets at least stay equal in offense in the perimeter, but FAR BETTER in D....

I was criticized by proposing a trade of Brooks plus trade fillers plus some sweetener for Iggy....however, they never explained why this proposed trade was so bad....

    One example I'll repeat...
Aaron Brooks+Jared Jeffries+Chuck Hayes For Iggy would work according to RealGM's trade checker....

The sweetener could be one of the first round picks Rockets has as assets...

An extra PG was needed, I suggested Hinrich because he's somehow undervalued after playing behind Derrick Rose...so Battier plus some sweetener could do the trick....
But if other PG can be suggested, it would be fine...

The perimeter would keep the same offensive potential, but FAR BETTER D, don't you think?

    OLD_________________NEW
    PG: Brooks, Lowry_____PG: Hinrich, Lowry
    SG: Martin, Lee_______SG: Martin, Lee
    SF: Battier, Budinger___SF: Iggy, Budinger

Isnt the NEW backcourt CLEARLY better? Doesn't Houston have more than enough assests to make this happen?

What would Shane have to do to prove you wrong?

Some stats would be nice. Maybe a dinner at Spaghetti warehouse? I am not too demanding. Perhaps signed shoes and some Rockets tickets. ;)

Could be offset by the points C-Bird could score. Shane's defense isn't stellar enough to merit the starting position anymore.

Are you kidding me? After giving up 107 or more points you want to replace him with a worse defender? The rockets are not the dam Warriors or Suns. Stop acting like outscoring opponents is considered good defense.

Seriously, though. What sort of stats? Like, scoring in double figures?
