Did you see their point guards hit 7 of 7 threes at the end to fuel their win? Nothing phantom about that.

You want to know what the stat is with him on the bench? -17, at least during the deciding stretch. Your logic sucks.

That was a run. Why didnt Adelman have him in the whole game? Blame Adelman? Runs happen. Any player can be out during a run. Did you know Jordan Hill wasnt playing during that Lakers run?

Do you hear anyone b****ing about Jordan Hill needing to be replaced based on his performance against the Lakers?

And yes, runs happen, but 21-4 runs don't typically happen by sheer luck.

Look you will win you usual 52 games and get tossed in the first round. I just dont want to accept it. I would rather preempt that happening. As it is you accept the mediocre team you want. I want a better one.

    and runs dont win games?

You dont even realize battier wasnt in the game when houston lost the lead. The players who were there were the ones you've been saying should have been there. The ones who you claim would have scored and defended better, yet they managed to give up 21 points and score 4.

Good. Now, as Delonte West would say to Von Wafer, why don't you do something about it? Or do you prefer to just b**** on the internet?

Wrong. Martin missed key minutes, Yao fouled out, Courtney Lees time wasnt utilized during some of those key moments.

Youve gone with the flow all these years. So yeah. Pretty much first round exit is your record also.

Look, I can argue with Carl Herrera on other stuff, but he could not be more right about Battier. He's actually a really good poster as far as basketball is concerned when he doesn't try too hard to be witty.

These anti-Battier threads after one game in which he did not even play badly are really facepalm-worthy.

We will see at the end of the season should things stay the same. I dont know who will be right. I do know you have nearly 5 years under Battier proving we have a 52 to 53 win team max with him as a starter when he had Tmac and Yao at Superstar level and in his own prime. There is a 90% probability with your course of action we end up at the exact same location or worse as all of them other years. You guys have useless stats to back you up and i have years of statistical facts on team placement and occurences to back up where this team is headed under my logic. I could be wrong. 52 wins and first round exit sound right to alot of others doesnt it? I thought so.

A true fan waits for the season to play out...at least half a season would be good, especially with new players. This isn't the same team you keep comparing to them to. Look around. Maybe that's why you keep focusing on battier, since he (and chuck) are the only ones still around, but if he was the only one to blame and dictated how they finished, then this team's seasons wouldnt have such different results in the last 2-3 years.

Hell, he may even be the reason why you're here. He and chuck have provided great leadership and a don't quit attitude. That has been consistent during this whole time regardless of how the team finished and that's why so many new fans are piling in.

tonight rockets vs warriors, so battier will "shutdown" their scrubs and half of us will forget how bad battier is till we meet with some real contenders.

This. Carl Herrera is a very astute poster and should stick to posting sensible stuff, which he has a lot of. His humor is also solid except for his penchant for mimicking Asians, which really borders on racism.
There should be no room for that here, especially from someone whose more serious posts I greatly respect.

Courtney Lee was in the game during the entire 6-minute (approximately) 21-4 run.

    http://popcornmachine.net/cgi-bin/gameflow.cgi?date=20101026&game=HOULAL

Budinger manned the other wing spot for the first 4 minutes of the 21-4 run, Martin replaced him during the last 2 minutes of the 21-4 run.

At PF, Chuck was in during the fist 5 minutes, Scola was in during the last minute.

At C, Miller was in for the first 2, Yao was in for the last 4.

At PG, AB was in for the first 5, Ish Smith was in for the last 1.

Battier was in for 0 of these minutes.

i think we should let him finish out his contract with us and then make him an assistant coach. I feel the only reason he's still on the team at this point is because of his leadership. He's the one out there on the court showing everybody where they need to be and who to switch off of etc. His 3 point shot will start dropping soon enough i'm sure, as that's something that doesn't just disappear even at his age.
