As for us, I think Morey would probably welcome a VP of basketball operations to handle the culture of the team. Morey's a good gm, but he's not really a basketball guy.

Phil Jackson comes in after we get Howard, SVG, keep Harden, Parsons, Beverley, and Asik...

then after getting a player like Josh Smith, Phil gets credit for our championship.

    I can see it now!

Kevin McHale is the new Phil Jackson and Morey is a better GM.

    We don't need Phil Jackson.

Quite a few coaches could win with the talent Phil has had.

I don't think Phil will come because Patrick Patterson is no longer here. He was a consummate professional.

I like Morey. He's done a pretty good job except for the last trade.

And Phil Jackson is like 113 years old.

More urgency to win since Phil understands his own mortality and that of every human.

The only thing you are missing is the OP's obsession with PPat and hatred for Morey because he traded him away. He's been a troll ever since.

Not really. That was overrated too, just like PPat.

Phil Jackson being overrated is absurd to me. Yea, the guy had talent, but not every coach knows how to coach talent. He's won consistently and knows how to get the best out of his superstars. Thats a hard thing to do in this NBA climate. Very few coaches can do what he did in my opinion.

    What a horrible thread.
Are you ever going to get over the PP trade? Morey is better than Phil and is Phil really that good or did he just have Jordan, Shaq and Kobe?

Quick!.. bring in a guy with little knowledge or understanding of the cap so he can undo the good work put in the last few years!

That being said, I think a talented young team could learn from his zen principals. The mind is a powerful thing.
