I'm not gonna sit here and brainstorm THEIR problem. They aren't paying me ****. Y'all crazy.

We (Jeff) already kept the team here. What else do they need? No more hand outs.

So you won't go to the games unless they pay you to go?

Maybe this is why our attendance is so bad, people want the Rockets to pay THEM to go to the games.

I usually go to a few a year. But I'm here to support my team, not to try and fix Fertita's business.

The issue of empty seats is raised here in many game threads. Instead of continuing to watch people complain about it, I decided to make this thread to try and take that energy and put it towards devising solutions independent of whatever management does.

If you don't feel like that is a worthwhile endeavor, fine. Many others do.

Not sure if serious. Kudos, I suppose, for your honesty.

This should be stickied as poster child for what we all hate about corporate ticket users.

And no, I will never "understand one day." Really, it's you who will never understand one day. Why do no other NBA teams have this problem? It's a Houston culture thing with you corporate tickets users, that y'all need to fix. It's like y'all are saying, "Make it worth my while."

hopefully, you'll understand one day, that you are just a spoiled bandwagon fan who doesn't have to pay for tickets and many others down there are too. You'll understand that when you beg for a WCF or Finals series ticket and brag about being there at tip-off.

I may be a lot of things, but a bandwagon fan isn’t one of them. No need to say anymore about that, I’m pretty confident in that regardless of your opinion. However, one thing that I can say that I am is a grown ass man who who can enjoy what I want to enjoy the way that I want to enjoy it.

People work hard for what they have and thier positions in life. And don’t owe a damn thing to some fan worried crowd attendance and how someone else utilizes a ticket that they bought or are privileged to.

I’ve been to the WCF. Set in great seats. Had a blast. Would do again. No need to beg. And honestly I don’t remember if I was there for the tip or not.

What would you say to Tilman if he stopped you once and asked, "What would it take for me to get you to arrive earlier and be in you seats at tip off?"

It appears you would be offended and defensive to that question. Because that's all you are showing now.

No other NBA team has this problem, Do they not work hard? Think about it, and quit saying how much you have deserved to enjoy the good life and being late to your seats like others in Houston (not other cities), as if ppl even agree that arriving late is the good life. Your comment above is a false sense of belonging to a group mentality that all NBA lower bowl, free pass people share. No, it's just Houston.

And Tilman has to fix the problem you so proudly acknowledge.

What would it take for you to arrive earlier and get to your seats at tipoff?

not sure if it's been brought up, but did some of you forget we just had a historical natural disaster. Even the Astros didn't pack the house until the playoffs

Are NBA games filmed from the same side all the time? The corporate seats should be restricted to the side the camera is coming from. Then make the seats on the 'visible' side able to be purchased only from the Toyota center at the time of the game. Make these 'visible' seats much cheaper, so people will arrive early to buy them. They will all be filled up by the start of the game. Get rid of the red rowdies to fund the cheaper visible seats as its more important that the stadium looks full!

It's all good bro. We'll just call you what you are, a casual fan.

No worries. I'm happy for your success.

Why do we care how the stadium "looks"?

I thought this was about creating a home court advantage that goes beyond just the playoffs. Pretty sure, the players themselves will notice if just one side of the arena is "full".

Honestly man, I just reread my post and it definitely comes across as dickish. Rarely is a Rockets game at the top of my list of priorities. I pass on tickets all the time for that reason. When I go, I look forward to it and enjoy it. But I don’t stress over things that ultimately don’t matter. And for me, punctuality to basketball game falls into that category. I’d imagine that many others feel the same way. I also understand how others feel the exact opposite. But I’m not going to cast judgement over something so inconsequential. What you eat don’t make me shiit.

And that’s all I have to say about that. Go Rockets!

Well, frankly... I do ok, but I’m not THAT successful. However I am self aware, and this thread would’ve been just fine without my input.

Looks like they’re doing a seat upgrade promotion for those who got there early.
    Anyone know more about this?

Giving free tickets to season ticket holders with perfect attendance that get to seats by tip off. That's a good start. The upgrade option for those getting there early is good too if it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Could they offer discounts on concessions to fans in the lower bowl who arrive to their seats by tip off?

Houston is a bad basketball town and the rockets overcharge for tickets. When things are going well they are third behind Texans and Astros.

The rockets need to lower ticket prices and screwing up flash seats did not help.

Rockets tickets are a bit higher than average for the NBA. I'm not sure if this includes ticket surcharges and things. I know Toyota Center has a pretty high surcharge for events but not sure how much it is for basketball games. Sucks that we all end up paying twice for our sports arenas whether its tax exemptions for the teams, free security from the police, or surcharges for each event.
    https://www.statista.com/statistics/193720/average-ticket-price-in-the-nba-by-team-in-2010/

On the idea of upgrading the seats if someone is late, is that even legal? I would think once you buy a seat you own its rights for the length of the event. I know I'd be pissed if I bought some seats and got there late because of work only to find that someone else is sitting there.

People saying GS, Boston, SA, and OKC crowds have a ton of energy. GS has been the best team in the NBA for the last 4 years even if they haven't won it all every year. Boston is a storied franchise. San Antonio has been fantastic ever since Pop took over in 96 and OKC had at least two hall of fame players on their team for years. The Rockets have had Stevie Franchise, lazy McGrady, and farting Dwight. Let CP3 and Harden win a championship in June and see how the attendance is next year.

On another note, Mavs have the highest attendance home attendance in the NBA. http://www.espn.com/nba/attendance/_/sort/homePct

But its all an illusion. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-mavericks-may-be-the-nbas-most-and-least-popular-team/ I haven't watched any Mavs home games but with the giveaways does their arena look full?

You have to appreciate this about Cuban:
I used to go all the time back in in 2010-2012 when we weren't as good and the stadium was half empty. I mean why couldn't Les do something like this?
