There's another more ruthless quote for times like these: Stocks will eventually end up with their rightful owners. I can't remember who said it.
I put most of my yearly ROTH IRA money and moved some other 401K type funds around to mostly American large cap funds (plus 1 small cap) on Tuesday right before the markets closed. I got lucky this week, I just hope I don't regret waiting to see if the Dow bottoms at 5 or 6K (as some people I respect think) before putting more in--but I figured hedging my bets with it at 7.8K wasn't bad. Yesterday right before close I bought into a Euro found with what looks to have undervalued stocks--will see today how this does. I have to admit it really is more of a game for me. For one it isn't a lot I am moving around, plus more importantly, I am for sure not touching this money for 20 years and probably more like 35 or 40.
