You say you do web anything or design anything? I'm in. When I was with ZigDumbo company, I bladee blah blah. We had lots of money.

Now I own a company named Congrats, and I am the owner.

I travel from Austin to England and back. I have lots of money now and you douchebags don't.

We made Hetar Guiro but some company took the idea from us.

I write hate posts and try to play it off by including a wink in my posts. ;)

I second this. Good way to compete with others and potentially win some money through it all.

But good luck man. I am fellow graphic designer and I have enjoyed your work for a long time. Keep it up and dont forget to believe in yourself!

Email me and I'll see if I can get it done. Trust me when I say it's not below my "expertise" since I have very little. Logowork is something I'm not especially proficient at, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Also alcoholic beverage compensation is not needed. Not because I'm a benevolent selfless person, but because I'm underage. :p

Make a new logo for the Rockets. Some douchebag will probably say let's just use the classic championship era logo but don't constrain yourself to it and make something even better.

How about this - I'm going to start homebrewing again and want something I can print out and put on the label of the bottle that shows where I'm doing my fermenting, I'll call it

    Newtown Creek Brewing

Type of Media: (Poster, advertisement, logo, etc.)

    Logo/Label
    Is this a serious/real request?: Y/N
Semi-serious. I'll print it out an duse it.
Links to images you want in the media: (URLs please)

I'd like to use something involving a silhouette of a water tower and/or smokestacks in the area, see this image search: http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=Greenpoint+water+towers&FORM=HDRSC1#x0y474

Give me a short summary of the objective and target audience: (Who is going to see this? What is the purpose of this product?)

    Label/branding that reflects the 'hood.

Any extra information, specifics, details?: (Maybe you want a specfic color scheme?)

It's an industrial area, so darker colors, like copper/brick/brown/black/gray/navy blue

I don't need anything  but it would probably help others if you opened up the option to allow people to email you through the board.

Meh. Gradients, transparencies don't work on a logo.

Give me a short summary of the objective and target audience: friends, beer brewers, and potentially the general public, if we start a business
Any extra information, specifics, details?: the concept is a "brewery for bros". we are definitely not frat daddies. we are quite the opposite - technobeer geeks with a penchant for hipsterism. it's an ironic name for us. also, we like minimalism. simple schemes, "web 2.0", glossy feeling, think of the facebook F and the twitter bird logos. think of anything in the "bro" lexicon - fist bumps, exploding stuff, sharks and bears, jeff spicoli, snowboarders, surfers, flying v guitars... stay away from the "douchebag" vocabulary - popped collars, croakies, spiked hair. this would be a good exercise in color schemes and logo design. try 3 color schemes on for size?

As a person who has made a living doing and managing graphic design for the past 20+ years here is my advice...

You need schooling not clients. That logo is wrong on so many levels.

Contrary to popular belief... Not everyone with a computer and photoshop can be a designer.... Well at least not a GOOD designer.

    Good luck.

Subjective. There are principals but the whole profession is subjective. Phil Knight didn't like the Nike swoosh for Christ's sake.

    Good design is subjective.

Bad design is obvious for reasons you may not understand but I'll give you some examples...

The logo is built using transparency, gradients, rgb or cmyk colors that can't be reproduced in spot colors. Not to mention couldn't be stitched onto a shirt or cap easily.

It contains small type inside of it that wouldn't reproduce well at small or even normal sizes. Put that logo on a letterhead or envelope and you'll see.

All logos should be built to look good in a single color application, greyscale, and spot color applications.

Not trying to run the guy down. I wish him luck. The life of a designer is not an easy road to make a living. I was suggesting he get more education because if one of my designers brought me that logo as a redesign of the rockets logo... They would soon be looking for a job. The graphic design world need people who understand design is more than making pretty pictures, you have to understand real world process and that's why the logo is bad. Not due to lack of effort, lack of design education.
