Killa, the little notepad with the pencil just above the window is for editing. It was turned off for a time, but now it works again. Most newbies don't realize they can edit. Just a suggestion -- I didn't know it when I first started posting.
If Seattle could swap frontlines with Houston, they would be top 3 or 4 in the West imo. Seattle's defense and rebounding are an absolute JOKE b/c their frontline is crap. Radmanovic and Reggie Evans at PF? LOL. Drobnjak and James at center? Even funnier. The Rockets would immediately become a VERY dangerous team if they swapped Barry with Cuttino. During the last national TV game Seattle played, the announcers kept repeating how the team plays so much better with Barry on the floor. The minute the guy steps on the floor, the team starts running with Barry pushing a lot of tempo; in addition, the passing in the halfcourt picks up A LOT. Contrary to popular belief, Barry shares in a large chunk of the playmaking for the Sonics despite Payton being on the team. If you take Barry off that team, the Sonics would not be anywhere near the top of the league in Ast to TO ratio.
I'd be willing to bet that all but 2 teams in the nba (besides the rockets) would LOVE to have Steve Francis play point guard for them. He may not be the ideal point, but hes better than all except for Gary Payton , and Jason Kidd. Can we cut the crap already and LET Steve develop into the point guard we need? Rome wasnt built in a day and I doubt it developed as fast and as well as Steve has over the past 4 years.
i want to ask all u guys out there a ? that said i hate the rockets style or how steve is not a pg and should be moved to the 2, well her it goes if the rockets continued there style of play and made the playoffs and won the championship this year would you still hate the rockets style of play? just for u guys info with the rockets current record we could be in 3rd place by the end of the week that is how close there rockets are to every other team 3-8 the only difference is we are a lot younger and have this guy named Yao Ming we will win plenty of championships i know this for a fact, keep ur head up
I can assure the Mavs would not trade Nash for Francis nor the Kings give up Bibby for him. And you might be hard pressed to pry Davis from the hornets... When Steve is on he is as good as them all and what he lacks in playmaking (and he does lack) he makes up in athleticism... but the problem is Steve is inconsistent... I don't know why that is, maybe he is still suffering from migraines but he doesn't want the media to know... maybe he just doesn't come to play every game... but against the Hawks Steve was worst than bad and then against Boston He was an all star. Will the Reall Stevie please show up every game.
I agree with how it has been "broken down". Francis is a scorer first and a creator second. If he ever developed the mentality that Isaiah Thomas had he would be devastating on the court. Funny how this re-regurgitated subject draws 300+ replies(7000+ views ) when Doc posts it as opposed to 20 when DaDakota posts it. You guys/gals are such vultures.
Well, it is not for lack of shouting ALL-CAP!! exclamations like Doc Rocket always does in his opening posts. Maybe if he would change his name to DocDakota rather than the stuttering DaDakota, we'd take him more serious.
Seattle is better at their front line positions than us except at center. Lewis (17PPG) is light years ahead of any forward we have right now. Mason and Radmanovich are also decent forwards. I do agree Seattle's front line isn't good (neither is ours as a group yet), especially as like us they are missing some expected starters and key back-ups (forcing Evans to get a lot of PT), but no, I don't think you plug Payton and Barry in with us for Steve and Cat and we are all that much improved, and I think GP is the most complete PG in the league right now (ahead of Steve, or Kidd or anyone). I think Barry looks a lot better than he is because his compadre is so solid at both ends (takes the most difficult back-court defensive assignments and sets him up offensively)--it is no coincidence Barry's efficiency went from well worse than Cats to well better than his only after he got to Seattle and played next to Mr Payton.
We have more wins than we do losses. Thats all I need to know. Is that enough for anyone out there, or do you demand to criticize and over-analyze to the point of ridiculous?? Quit yer b****in' folks!!
this is the kinda **** that keeps good conversation away... this is why i rarely ever read this board anymore.....
Desert Scar, We will simply have to agree to disagree on this point. Also, the point I was making about Seattle's frontline compared to ours is that they simply do not provide the defense and rebounding that team needs. I understand that Rashard, Radmanovic, Drobnjak etc are nice shooters and all, but that team is severely lacking in terms of defense and rebounding. They would love to have frontline players like Yao, Cato, Eddie, Posey etc that defend and rebound.
