Seems that if someone actually read the article, they would see that is literally not what it's about. Simply a historical look at exercise from the early 1900's to now.
I did not imply that that it had nothing to do with the title of the article. I implied that it had nothing to do with the title of this dumb thread. Nowhere in the not very long article it does it say that exercise is racist. There are 2 paragraphs that discuss white supremacy and exercise... That's it. In the entire article.
Im confused isn’t white supremacy a form of racism? That’s just semantics. I mean what do you think is being addressed in those paragraphs if not racism? I will agree that the thread is dumb as are most of the OP’s threads. This entire part of clutchfans is filled with stupidly as far as I’m concerned.
Eugenics and racial superiority had a heavy hand in mainstream western and scientific thought throughout the 17th and 20th centuries. You'll see this come up like Planned Parenthood's Sanger and the comments she made at the time. Hell, we employed post war nazis to build rockets, bombs, and jet engines, so it's not too surprising. Time mags title isn't false, but OPs title took the association one step beyond what the article is describing. I'm not sure if acting equally moronic as a wokester with time wasting titles is a great way to make a point, but we're talking about dull people and it's mean to shoot a bad messenger
Jeremy Lin fans are woke Every time he shoots an air ball they think it’s 2 points look at the fat people on the view none of them exercise or know what Diet Coke is
The work Olympics means if a bunch of fat dudes crossed the finish line they all win except if they are dudes pretending to be girls they win even more @Commodore woke woke woke
I can certainly agree with the last couple of sentences. My point is that the article doesn’t center on that and it’s not saying that exercise is currently racist. It was merely pointing out a historical fact from 100 years ago.
We tell each other all the time to actually read the article because it is a pretty safe assumption given the nature of the internet and society. Its interesting to me that people wouldn't think the media would come to the same conclusions and try to capitalize on that. The article doesn't center on that yet its the first thing people read in the title and likely the only thing most people will read. Thats just the way the world works now. The irony is that we are now talking about a title of a piece that has little to do with the actual article and we are doing it in a thread because of a title that Tinman used to either get attention or further skew the message of the article. People came to this thread because of the title. And now to no one's surprise there are videos of people on the right taking this to an extreme based solely on the contents of the title. Its rather interesting which of the 7 facts about exercise made the title of the article. I guess people are hungry for more racism related content. I mean what can you say. People say Timan’s post title is by design but can’t seem to understand that publications who actually profit on clicks wouldn’t try to capitalize on the same insights about humanity
