You have a bit of a point, but my impression is that you are just being an attention w**** (and a successful one at that).

I'm interested in seeing how Yao performs if we surrounded him with role players that complemented his game. Guards who can make a most entry pass, hit the spot up jumper, and run the break, a rebounding power forward who can catch passes and hit layups, and a small forward who can hit the 3 and play perimeter defense. I would bet with these role players, we would see much more consistency from Yao game in and game out and more production from him.

This team, as currently built, takes zero pressure off of Yao. No defense in the league is penalized for sagging inside against us. None of the players on this team exploit his passing to them wide open. They either blow the layup or wait for the defense to reestablish before making a move (why do Steve and Cuttino do that?).

He doesn't get the opportunities in the game to honestly say the team is living and dying by him. All of the other guys on this team think they can take over a game so they stop feeding him if they think he's cold or if the pass looks remotely challenging. He's also always switching on the guard or forward who beat our guards and forwards off the dribble to the basket. This leaves his man open under the basket and our forwards rarely switch over to box his man out.

Role players would get Yao more touches, more shots, more assists, and more energy for defense and rebounding.

But people have responded to you in the past. Now they just (correctly) label you as a troll. Wonder why that is.

Boy, 64 replies to you Juugie and half of them are labeling you a troll.

Funny how everyone else is ignoring the "truth" you espouse.

P.S. The Yao-bashing after a bad game threads, though less-venomous throughout the months, are getting old. Get some new material.

When we first drafted him, didn't we say he was a 3 year project? Look at his last 20 games, he's producing impressive numbers. We are SPOILED fans.

Even though he has horrible games from time to time, Yao is still the biggest advantage this team has. Maybe he hasn't proven that he can be the main option consistently yet, but at this point, what alternative do the Rockets have? What are the Rox supposed to do? Go back to the Stevie and Cat show and let them isolate in the zone era of the NBA?? Hell no!!! Been there, done that. Francis had his chances and look where that got the team and us the fans, absolutely nothing.

So I say the Rox make Yao the main option for offense. Either that or just trade everybody on this team. I'm sure the Rox can get something good in return for Yao, SF, Cat, etc....

You said Yao played a great game, so yao played great.
You said Yao is not the Man, so Yao is not the man.
You said Yao should be blamed, so Yao must be blamed.
You said Yao is a third tier player, so Yao steps down to third tier.
who doooo you think you are?

BTW, since most of the people throwing around the word "Troll" don't even know what it means, here's the definition from the dictionary:

    troll:

An electronic mail message, Usenet posting or other
(electronic) communication which is intentionally incorrect,
but not overtly controversial (compare flame bait), or the
act of sending such a message.

So seeing that no has proven me incorrect and even if so, I would hardly say that I posted incorrect information intetionally and seeing that saying anything critical of Yao is higly controveral, it would indeed be incorrect usage to call someone a troll just because they have an opinion that's different than yours.

    Now try

    closed-minded:

close-mind·ed (klsmndd, klz-) or closed-mind·ed (klzd-)
    adj.
Intolerant of the beliefs and opinions of others; stubbornly unreceptive to new ideas.

Which is exactly what 90 % of your posts are. Good to see you are learning about your behavior. Next step: change.

SF has proved by his own performance that Yao is much better. If we have to choose the #1 man on this team, it is clear Yao is the choice. You keep saying Yao hasn't proved enough. But can you deny SF has proved more than enough he is not worth the role? He's got 5 years to prove it and all he did was to show he can lead this team to nowhere! You are blaming Yao for a few bad nights in the process of this experient, and you want to stick with SF who is a proven loser!

it is funny how generous you are to SF and how picky you are to Yao.

You are damn right that SF is responsible. He is still responsible for his own pathetic performance this year. We got 10 games above .500 for the first time in a long time, so overall it is not too bad for Yao and JVG. But however you look at it, SF sucks big time. If we get a real PG who is being paid as much as SF, we will be much better.

    Sir Jackie Chiles Translator:

"Yao is god and all the other players are stupid" = thoughtful, relevant, intelligent game analysis.

"Yao isn't consistent enough to lead the team" = dumb ignorant post and a troll.

"Steve Sux" = immortal words of wisdom surpassing even the Gettyburg address for pure poignancy and eloquence

You prove my point. Yao is the leader. And ultimately, it his his responsibility to carry the team to victory - not his supporting players.

Now where did you get that part from?

Come on, everyone knows that practically all your posts have a common theme. You already posted against Yao when you had never seen a game of his - before he was drafted.

    Your motive?

    CONFESSION TIME.

Juugie. Keep trolling if you want. But I hope at least you can see that a lot of people arguing against you are not newcomers (the so-called YOFs). Most of them are old timers who have been members of this board and supporters of the Rockets for years. Also, for the past few months, every single one of your posts is about Yao Ming. So are you really a Rocket fan or just a anti-Yao fan?

Yao should be the leader but SF is not giving up that role! It is not a second-year's job to tell SF "do it or go somewhere else!". It is the job of JVG and CD to tell SF that. Unfortunately CD just gave SF a max contract which is not easy to move and JVG is new here and whether he will stay depends on this year's record, confronting SF doesnot help JVG's interest in short term.

After the season ends, I bet JVG will push CD to deal SF. Only after SF is gone, Yao can be established as the leader.

doesn't this situation parallel trading hakeem so that steve could assume team leadership (except of course that steve is no hakeem and won't be bringing any titles to houston)? let's hope history does not repeat itself.
