Been meaning to ask you when Bill White died. Could you email Mayor Sanchez and find out for me? Thanks in advance.
And Batman, how is Dean's campaign doing these days? Remember when you said he was 'taking his message straight to the people?" They didn't listen. YEEEEAAAAAARRRRRRRHHHHHHHHH
It's pretty funny how you think all that yeargh stuff bothers me. I was disappointed in Dean, but he lost because he started playing by conventional rules. He deserved to lose. If he'd stuck with his original strategy of taking the message straight to the people he would have won. Difference between me and Dean and you and Sanchez is that I recognized his flaws and problems and deserved descent. Meanwhile, White was whooping up on your boy and you kept saying he was losing. Another in a series of blows to your credibility. What happened in that race, by the way? Considering your unparalleled genius, how could you have been so incredibly, undeniably wrong?
You know what, Jorge? My bad. You're right, I'm wrong. Kerry's on life support, okay? Now scram. We've got a good thing going in this thread. I'd just as soon you didn't pull your usual derailment trick and get us locked.
Actually, it's a CNN-USA Today poll... but, on the rest you're accurate. My point was this... look who the national poll showed about 3% undecided/unsure, while NM still had 10% in the category. NM could very well swing harder in Kerry's favor, whereas in 2000 it says Gore won by 0.01%... Thanks! And you need to take the "partisan lenses" off every now and then.
So does that mean that no one can currently enlist? Is the Army currently at their budgeted max? If not, I simply don't understand how Kerry plans on increasing troop strength by 40,000 new enlistees. Is he going to increase benefits to induce more volunteers? Increasing the number by 40,000 isn't going to help if he can't get more folks to sign up. I'd really like to know and (as with many politicians) Kerry says he wants to do things yet doesn't say how.
Amazing. The boisterous confidence is silenced when we put something valuable on the line. It respect Batman for publ;icly betting with me. I thought one of these fire breathing Kerry guys would take you up on this.
If you would like to know, all it takes is a little research. This one took me all of 2 minutes to find and describes one way that Kerry plans to increase enlistment.
I thought that was already in place? I've had friends who spent some time in the military and are now getting a free education.
Batman, just is it just a coincidence that you are in Pa? Are you there at least partly to work on the campaign?
No, I'm not working on the campaign. Came here to direct a play and liked it so I'm sticking around for a little while. I have some friends here who are working on it though.
The GI bill is currently in place, but IIRC, does not pay for a full ride. I could be wrong, but the point is that Kerry wants to increase the benefits to make soldiering more attractive, thus increasing military service (and presumably education too).
What is being missed here is that Kerry is willing to put the money into the defense budget to pay for those 40,000 professional troops the Pentagon "claims" it doesn't need, and will put the Congress on the spot if they don't pony up the cash. If some of the Pentagon's budget requests in other areas needs to be tinkered with, so be it. I think it's a great proposal.
