https://www.startribune.com/gersson...president-of-basketball-operations/600099754/ Taylor made the call to fire Rosas, sources said, in conjunction with new owners Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez, who are on a path to become controlling owners in 2023. Throughout the past few months there has been a growing discord and strained relationships among Rosas, the front office and the rest of the organization, sources said. The Wolves decided to make change in leadership now before training camp opens next week instead of having that linger into the season. Other parts of the organization got a sense for how the culture on the basketball side was deteriorating at Summer League in Las Vegas last month, and that continued over the past few weeks, sources said. Rosas' attitude toward staff and ways of conducting business contributed to a morose atmosphere around the organization, sources said. When Rosas arrived in Minnesota he preached wanting to build a positive, team-friendly culture. Behind the scenes, however, there was tension the kept building through the last few months, sources said. For instance, Rosas' inability to come to a new contract with beloved longtime scout Zarko Durisic in July was a significant jolt to morale around the organization, sources said.
Damn, the rumors are true?! No wonder the Wolves didn’t thank him for his time/service or wish him well (LOL) (from when the news broke…) Back in July (Tonight…) WCCO’s Mike Max says based on conversations, Rosas is out for two reasons: a culture he created that allegedly was toxic, and for an “inappropriate relationship” inside the organization. People inside the organization have been put off by him at times, and the latest issue to surface was seemingly the final straw. One other employee of the team also left abruptly Wednesday. The team made the announcement in this statement from Timberwolves and Lynx owner Glen Taylor Wednesday afternoon: “The Minnesota Timberwolves parted ways with President of Basketball Operations Gersson Rosas. As an organization, we remain committed to building a winning team that our fans and city can be proud of.”
lmao. Trying to pin the 2 decades of a horrible organization on Rosas. The minnesota news is being dramatic af.
Seems like some people were sticking their necks out to defend him. Must have been old staff that was angry that he was doing things differently.
