    I don't see any reason to pick him up unless its insurance for injuries with Scola and Hayes

    No need for Simien. He is injured.I kind of feel sorry for him.It would be nice to see him succeed,however there is no place for him on the Rockets even if he was healthy.

    Yeah rockets will be cutting a lot of talent this year. Hey who knows, I am sure Boston would love to have Juwan.

    Man minnesota makes no sense, they traded for Juwan Howard just so they can buy it out? It's like they spent 5 million to get rid of Mike James, instead they can rob some team with at least some picks and maybe get a Parker or Ginnobili during their rebuilding process. K. Mchale is a dumbass helping every other nba team winning championships.

    I'm torn on picking up Howard. As other posters have pointed out, he would make a great third string PF/C and insurance for frontcourt injuries. However, bringing in Howard would relegate Carl Landry to the D-League or the very end of the bench. If Landry is worth keeping and developing, then I'd have to say no to Juwan.

    Anyways, my bet is on Howard going to Boston, where he'll probably get to have a bigger role on a contender. So the point is moot.

    Juwan had his time. He was soin' a good job when Yao was out but do you remember what he did in the playoffs and at the end of the season. Hell, keep him out of our team.

    I'd really love to see somebody like WIlcox in Houston. Morey can think about that cause for example Wilcox would be a great fit for our startin' lineup, and for Yao.

    Isn't this a good enough reason already?

    It has nothing to do with his playing time, JHO would be a true leader and teacher to the entire team. He would be available for scrap minutes when playing small ball (or god forbid, injuries).

    Not to mention the whole wiesbrod position. Potentially best trade ever if JHO comes back.

    Interesting after so much hating, that now we want to grab him back off waivers. I just hope its not just to simply sock it to weisbrod, because that chapter has been written. Everyone knows who got the better end of that deal. It would only sweeten it if JHO could provide Vet guidance to Landry and the whole forking team.

    Also to the Simien Bandwagon, how would he fit into this rotation?? Who do you compromise in favor of him?? Novak, maybe. Snyderr, probably not. I love the kid's potential but it's not realistic.

    Simien is the Bob Sura of PFs. He'll have to be healthy in order to play. :p

    Uh ...if Hayes gets hurt, are we expecting Scola to play 48 minutes per game for a month?

    Stevie is saying he wants out. Cut Steve. Pickup Juwan. In a perfect world, I'd rather have Stevie. But we seem to be set a guard. But we're short legit PF's.

    Steve = locker room problem.
    Juwan = locker room savior.

    We are already over the luxury tax. You cant just cut players. Steve's salary would still count against us, not to mention whatever we sign Howard for. The only way is to trade salary and get nothing back. That might be possible with Steve, but even then adding Juwan gives us 16 players again so another cut still needs to be made.

    Vet min on IR...

    I remember Juwan getting hot during the latter half of last year, but he went cold in the playoffs. I guess he's worth another look, but I wouldn't lose sleep over not getting him back on the team.

    Playoffs... we need the guys who will help us advance in the playoffs. In the now-long-ago Dallas series, I thought Juwan would have put us over the top because the offense played better with him on the court. Last year, against Utah he did not help at all.

    Nice guy, but I don't think we need him.

    It is the possibility of getting him for a small, manageable salary that has people intrigued. He is also a great leader as you say so you can see why most would be interested. Still a lot of people wouldn't do it because we would rather have Landry at that backup role. If it was possible at all to get him really cheap we might think about it. He would be a pretty good passer/decision maker out of that high post IMO.

    I agree, he would have helped us beat Dallas, but struggled against Utah. Maybe he would fit this offense, but where is there room for him?

    Pros: veteran leadership, jump shooting
    Cons: "I got it Yao!" YOINK

    Marginal move imo

    The questions to me are:

    1. How comfortable are you if Landry has to play some minutes?

    Landry is the guy who will likely have to see rotation time if Yao, Scola, or Chuck becomes unavailable.

    2. Who would you cut to make room for Juwan? Instead of cutting one of Snyder, Reed, or Novak, you'd have to cut 2 of them to make room for Juwan.

    3. Are you willing to move another $770K away above the luxury tax threshold?

    Of course, these are the Rockets factors... Juwan still has to make a decision about which team fits him the best. I'm thinking Celtics or Heat right now.

    Well he's a power forward so I'd compare him more to Landry. This is someone who once was a top NCAA player and it just seems he had some injury problems, that's all.

    If anything, how much worse could he turn out to be compared to Landry?

    I think that it's all moot though as we don't have the flexibility to acquire either JHo or Simien. The LLE was used on Mutombo, btw.
