Didn't hit me at first, but he's the same age as my parents. Makes me sad to think what his father and son must be going through. Tim did everything possible to help his father and he ends up outliving him. Tim got to see Luke graduate college, but won't get to see the fruits of that labor as he becomes an adult. Hopefully, he goes on to be the great father that Tim was said to be. I'm very saddened by this. There is no politics here. Just a great journalist, father, and husband passing way too soon.
I would stay up until 4am watching Tim Russert's coverage of both the 2000 and 2004 election. Regardless of political affiliation he was the fairest. It was entertaining to watch him expose the contradictions of all politicians. You can't replace Tim Russert. I'm guessing they give David Gregory a shot at the job.
That would be my guess too. They use him on the Today show quite often, and he has been the substitute host of MTP before, so he would be the logical fill in.
This is really sad. You really can't take life for granted at all.Live everyday like it could be your last. R.i.p. Tim Russert
Tom Brokaw will host this Sunday's Meet The Press and it will be a tribute to Tim Russert. It's a huge loss. RIP
It sucks that he is going to miss the most historic general election in a while. With how much he loved politics and all. Damn .
Probably not a bad idea to have two concurrent threads on this topic. One for Hangout, one for poo-flingers.
Pretty shocking, but nothing really will top the passing of the great Peter Jennings for me. May they both rest in peace...
