There is not 1 Center in the entire NBA that have all those attributes. As most fail at having a decent FT%.

16 Centers have FT% above 80% with 5 of them played less then 15 games. Only 4 of them average more than 10 points a game and that list is Yao, Big Z, Brad Miller and Troy Murphy.

Thats the list i got from NBA stats.

the title of this thread should be edited or something since it's already been established that that's not what legler's list was about.

I am so tired of hearing how amare would be nothing without nash. Seriously do some fans only watch highlights of the rest of the league. Everytime the suns are mentioned, nash gets all the credit, but his teammates are as responsible for his success as he is. Afterall his teammates have to be able to finish well to get nash assists, and help cover his defensive deficiencies. Nash did not become great until he came to the suns, and it is no coincidence. Looking at amares stats playing with marbury compared to nash shows me that nash had a small impact at best. While looking at marions stats there is virtually no difference with nash and without. Amare would be a great player period no matter who he played with. His PER rating this year is 3rd in the league, which is something average players just don't accomplish no matter how much help he may be getting. The hate on this message board for certain players is unjustified.

    Amare
    13.5 & 8.8 02-03 with marbury
    20.6 & 9.0 03-04 with marbury
    26.0 & 8.9 04-05 with nash

Actually, smart guy I noticed it after I submitted it but I couldn't edit it. Sometimes people are doing a few things at once and make spelling errors.

You really were serious about following me around the forum and harassing me because you're sore because I think your fantasy boyfriend Durant isn't going to live up to expectations.

Tim Legler actually said those were the players he'd choose if he was rebuilding a franchise...not a list of the best centers in the NBA.

You failed to mention anything about defense...that is why when you are in a game 7 situation its hard to choose Yao. He gets owned by people like Boozer, Al Harrington etc. And this is one of the main things that differentiates Yao from Duncan, so don't think just because you like TD means you have to like Yao. Yao is not even close to being the defensive stopper that TD is.

    My Top 5 centers:

    1-Dwight Howard
    2-Yao Ming
    3-Amare
    4-Marcus Camby
    5-Chris Kaman

Not on list: Shaq, Tim Duncan (bad year statistically from him and plays as a PF more than Center)

I do think the fact that Bynum is shotting 62 percent and grabbing 10 rebounds in under 30 minutes is really eye-opening.

That guy is a key reason for the lakers playing better this year.

you guys realizes these people are just hacks who are trying to get a name int he sports business - I'd never heard of Tim Legler until he made this stupid statement about Yao, now there's three pages on a fand site dedicated to him and his assinine comments

Most "respectible" sports writers have Yao and Howard 1 and 1a - that's why thiey are "respectible"

Tim Legler's a hater. I still remember a game against the Lakers in 2005, with Legler commenting. His hate on Yao was just blatant. He just kept nitpicking Yao's game, and even said stupid crap like "he's not a shot blocker" and "he's not a rebounder."
