Safe pick with little drama. I'm guessing Clinton felt taking a more middle of the road pick will contrast with Trump's bombast and going further right with his pick. Kaine probably won't help her much but he probably won't hurt her much either.
The DNC convention starts next Monday. Through your lens, it's not, but timing of her announcement is completely normal and nothing suspicious.

I think he's a great choice. Kaine speaks fluent Spanish, which is a major plus and will help the campaign in a lot of areas of the country, and Kaine will definitely help in Virginia. A very solid moderate Democrat who supports Roe v Wade, the senator will appeal to the large group of "middle of the road" independents and the middle class. Another important point is that he would be prepared to step in and govern as President if the need should arise, god forbid. Good pick, Hillary.
LOL... Nothing captures attention like Tim Kaine. Anyhow, he's not the pick that would fire up the based right now, but we are not voting today. Trying to call any VP pick a good or bad one on the day it gets made is kind of like grading an NBA team's draft on the night of the draft. Rather premature. Let's see how Kaine handles his job for a week or two before rendering a preliminary verdict. Right now, Tim Kaine sounds like the Joe Johnson of VP candidates. Didn't Rockets fans boo the selection of Robert Horry because they wanted Harold Miner? I also remember getting really excited about our draft class of Jeremy Lamb, Royce White and Terrence Jones.
Because "DNCLeaks" is even more boring than Tim Kaine. There's nothing significant in there that wasn't already well-known from earlier media reports and earlier Putin-produced "leaks." The Bernie people who would be outraged by the new leaks already were angry at Hillary anyway. And then there are you people who all of a sudden care about a socialist being treated fairly.
I got me a fever, and the only thing that's gonna cure it is... a couple of lines of TIM KAINE If you got bad news, you want to kick them blues, TIM KAINE. When your day is done and you want to run, TIM KAINE She don't lie she don't lie she don't lie, TIM KAINE
It has been anticipated for a few days now that she was going to announce her VP pick today. I don't think they are related, although that certainly wouldn't be without precedent, for any politician.
Glenn Jacobs is a libertarian who supported Ron Paul. He even spoke at some of his rallies I believe. He also has/had a blog where he called himself citizen x or something and wrote about politics. Kane would never support Hillary except as the lesser of two evils.
If anything, the Putin-sponsored leaks were timed to distract from the VP announcement, which was known to be happening today for a while now.
Shoulda gone Palin. I guarantee you, Palin is more interested in winning than actual political beliefs. Get her to flip on the republicans to be the death of the party itself. Hell, ask McCain to run with her, McCain is more liberal than Clinton is...
