as a christian i do not support the acts of gay people but also do not hate them because they could be really good people. the thing is though as christians, we are not here to judge people, that day will come when come when they die, but our job if we are fully knowledgeable of the word of God, is to speak to gay people, show them the love of God, and explain to them that the life there living is not one that God supports. Now we can't do this by bashing them, or telling them how evil they are, but in a loving/caring manner show them the way God wants us to be........and on the subject of whether being gay is wrong or right, i believe it is wrong simply because it is clearly stated in the Bible, and because 2 men nor 2 women can't naturally give birth to another life form which is an act solely made between a man and women because it shows they are one together...there is a reason why in the beggining of time there weren't 2 males or 2 females because they couldn't reproduce which means life would cease to exist
Also, a man that committeth adultery with [another] man's wife, [even he] that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. Leviticus 20:10
yeah and Jonah was really swallowed by a whale and Noah somehow got every single animal species on his ark........
I haven't read the entire thread. But I was not on a computer all day yesterday, nor near a radio. I didn't hear about this til the Late SportsCenter. They had Timmy's picture over one of the SC anchors. I think it was Steve Levy. I thought they were gonna talk about him being the second player to come out. Boy was I wrong. They played the interveiew with Dan LBT, my jaw dropped, and I honestly started laughing because it was SOOO FUNNY. Definetely a WTF moment. The way he said it was kinda offensive though. Now, I will go back and read this entire thread. Thank you.
Good post (as usual) and thanks for using RELEVANT logic. Unfortunately I think you just convinced some people to run to the grocery store and buy Miller Lite.
Good quote. Especially appropriate since Willie Nelson recently released his 'gay cowboy' song as a tribute to a friend who came out to him. The Dixie Chicks are an easy target, but I bet most country fans who disagree wouldn't dare speak out against Willie, who has too much credibility in country music and music in general.
Leviticus 20:9 For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.
well hey man believe what u wanna believe but what ur really doind is saying God is a liar so take it up with him, i think u should try reading the bible before judging it or go to a lakewood service before u start marking us as the people with crazy animal stories
Did I miss the memo that came directly from God? Because I thought the bible was a bunch of stories and allegories passed down for centuries before being put into an approved book by the men on the Nicea counsel under the Roman emperor Constantine. I missed the handoff where God reached down and handed the book to the Christians.....was it on TV? DD
and all those bible verses that u all are trying to bring up are from the old testiment before jesus died for our sins, so every time we sin we ask for his forgiveness and do not have to worry about death.....so if u committ adultry or curse your father just ask God for his forgiveness and try not to do it again
thats true but they were divinely interacting with God when they wrote it, God wouldnt allow us to live our daily lives through a book that was filled with fallacies, evrything in there explains the way we need to live our lives the way we should, in a christ-like matter......and yea it's really simple to talk to the big man just pray to him and ask him to speak to you, its the easiest thing, christianity is about a realtionship with God and whenevryou need him he's there
Which text should we follow? Christianity Hindu Buhdist Muslim Judea Church of England Scientology Did God write all of them? Meowgi, that is danged funny !!! Hey, maybe Vince Young wrote it !
Just for laughs - I have to point out that the majority of posts in which could be called pro-tolerance (even if not pro-gay rights) are pretty well written, whereas the bulk of the posts that are just straight up anti-gay are full of double negatives, blatant grammatical errors and things like using the letter 'u' in place of the word 'you'. I do not think that's a coincidence. Yes! I'm saying you guys aren't just ignorant, but barely literate to boot!
I'm sure this was covered way back earlier in the thread, but if not, it should be pointed out, homosexuality and the ability to reproduce aren't related. Gay people can reporduce, just like straight people can. Your sexual preference, as far as I know, have no bering on your ability to bear children.
To the Christians jumping in on this debate. It's hard to argue with non-Christians when you're using the words of the Bible. Since in order for them to respect those words in the proper context, they would have to be a Christian first. Noone is going to suddenly start believing that homosexuality is wrong or that it is right simply based on a message on an Internet forum. To the non-Christians who are mocking the Christians usage of the Bible: Mocking someone's religious beliefs is as bad as mocking someone's sexual orientation. If they want to use the Bible in their arguments with you, I think you should just simply tell them that you're not a believer and therefore the Bible carries no weight for you. Then you could probaly have a pretty good convo from there. If they insist on using it, explain to them that this is not a Bible Study, but a discussion between Christians and non-Christians.
