bingo. people forget that before a few high profile guys fell in his lap, Grover was just another struggling trainer. he wasn't always thought of as some kind of wizard . . .
How about u get yo fake ass rockets fan self out of here you Tmac only fan. Lol T-whack is a quitter and he quited on our organization and let our team down. He is a douche and we want him out of here lol.
Can we get a definition of significantly in terms of this discussion? See that's one of the problems that I see in all of this. There are alot of assumptions going on. I keep reading where posters have said that he wanted more minutes to become the focal point on offense again. He asked for more minutes, not to be the focal point. In fact, I can recall him saying a couple of year's ago that this was Yao's team. But back to the topic at hand, anyone expecting him to come back averaging 25/6/6 is expecting WAY TOO MUCH. As a basketball fan, my expectation was for him to come back healthy, get into better NBA GAME SHAPE the more that he played, and really be a factor that teams had to always be aware of & prepare for late in the season & into the playoffs. For T-Mac or any fan or coach to think/expect that he was gonna come out of the gate like gangbusters is/was absolutely ludicrous. Coming back from any injury takes time, patience, and confidence. I think that T-MAc exhibited more confidence in where he was than the Rockets did, I think that the Rockets gave T-Mac 8 minutes of playing time to pacify him (which only wet his appetitite & desire to play more, thus giving him more confidence in his abilities) & I think that neither the Rockets nor T-Mac exhibitied the patience that was needed to trust the other side and come back from this thing together. Significant contributions, whatever they are, were not gonna come quick. But that does not mean that they were not ever going to come.
"high profile guys" don't just fall on people's laps. Is Grover a magician? No. Could he possibly just be good at his job? Yes. Is he better than anyone in the world? Probably not. I'm sure there's other guys out there who could do the same work, but why would that make grover any less capable? The guy is just sure he know what he's doing and that he's going to get results, like any true professional would know. If you're not confident about your profession you're not likely to do well. The better you do , the better and more clients you get.
he's a good trainer. i've said that before. but the idea that he's some kind of guru just because he trained jordan, etc is a fallacy.
I didn't see much standing around during the short stints he played this year, but maybe I missed something (will have to go back & look at the vids again). I'm not saying that the Rockets should keep him (though as a fan of his abilities, I would rather see them on my team than someone else's) but to speak about the future of his career as though he does not have one is premature. Like you and many others, there are things that I feel T-Mac could have handled differently. But I also feel that way about the organization. Either way, I don't have any personal hatred for T-Mac or the team. But I feel that the emotions of some of us as fans has carried over and we have made our feelings about a game personal attacks & grudges against a player or an organization. That's my problem with the whole TOF/ROF drama. I think each side has legitimate arguments, but the legitimacy of the arguments cannot be seen because of personal biases & feelings. Not only that, but unless you can get a major piece and perhaps a draft pick that you can turn into a major piece, I think that the Rockets are gonna come out on the short end of whatever deal they make. Maybe the will prove me wrong. I'll wait and see.

The only better that Houston do is Fast break and that the style of play is similar to Adelman system, but on HC offense this is probably the worst in years. This team have done heroic thing with 40 million not playing but saying we are more efficient on offense that any year with Yao and T-Mac is just simply untrue. I don't let me bring the defense becuase is just day and night.
The Big 3 that Grover had this off-season Tracy McGrady Gilbert Arenas Jermaine O'Neal Watch out Jermaine O'Neal
jermaine o'neal is playing pretty darn well: 12.2 pts on 53% shooting. gilbert arenas was finally catching some rhythm before his suspension: he averaged 25.6 pts & 7.6 dimes on 42% shooting in december before this debacle. so grover still delivers. again, dwayne wade's improved play recently correlated with more training time with grover the past few weeks.
you realize people on this board blame the Rockets staff every time someone gets hurt and somehow thinks the Phoenix staff is the best in the league. They somehow forget that Phoenix doesn't play any defense or much low post basketball.
Chill I was only joking. I was just saying the 3 guys everyone kept talking about training well 2 of them aren't playing. I was just joking, I know Arenas was playing good before he got suspended.
yeah, its a popular misconception. the rockets training staff is actually really good, and has been for awhile. the attitude you are speaking about comes because of a few high visibility injuries, that honestly had very little to do with the Rockets' training staff.
I know who ever gets t-mac will be getting a guy with chip on his shoulder, a healthy t-mac with that is impossible to stop. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVd_cUsnm2I Ugh Morey better get a all-star back for sure or I will hate Adelman for ever for running off T-mac just to try developing Ariza into something he's not for cheap.
