He got plenty of practice time to show the Coaches and Managment that he was healthy and could play within the system... and he failed. These are the Houston Rockets not the Houston Tmacs. He doesn't decide when and if he's ready to play this year like he tried to last year. Coach and management are doing whats best for the TEAM not whats best for Tmac with disregard to whats best for the team.
I really can't believe that some of you still expect McGrady to come back and "dominate." What exactly have you seen that leads you to believe that's a possibility? He just seems so obviously washed up. Even if he did miraculously (and I mean that in the Biblical sense) return to 2005 form, it's literally inevitable that he will re-injure himself. How many years in a row must this be proven? A full decade? I fully recognize the team's need for a top-flight wing scorer, but McGrady is not the answer. For anyone.
You are comparing a hypothetical of a player we already have returning to form (similar to what Wade had to do btw) to a hypothetical of picking up players we have little chance of acquiring. Seriously, that is not even fair. Everyone around here seems to be so sure Tmac is washed up for the rest of his career. I don't get it. Did I miss something? but, in the end, you are right...the relationship is broken.
I agree with this. There is no way McGrady will ever lead a team. Maybe he can get lucky and become the 2nd or 3rd piece on a winning team, but he doesn't have the heart to lead a team himself. I think him and Rany Moss are similar. Lots of athletic talent, but not much heart.
Yeah. There hasn't exactly been anybody taping up their ankles and writing "T" and "Mac" on each one as DeShawn Stevenson did for Gilbert Arenas.

Well, maybe I just didn't see a whole picture here, speculations fly all over the place and I still thought that his "no notification" decision last season still upset the organization and that partially played a role in his situation.
The NBA is a business and based on a "What have you done for me lately?" mentality. Who cares if he use to be a star player? He was tolerable at first because he was good, but for the last couple years he has not only not been good, but a huge drama magnet as well. I advocate would trading any players on the Rockets if I believed it would help us, though I prefer consistency for team chemistry.
I agree that the comparison was unfair, but it was done on purpose to point out the absurdity of assuming T-Mac would return to form. He has ALWAYS been injury prone and he is coming off a career threatening surgery where rehab normally takes a year in just half that time. From what we saw, he has no elevation, no explosion, and no defense, yet he still believes that he should get more minutes and resume his place as the focal point of our team.
Belive me, it is not about money. The guy has something like REPUTATION. And you can't buy it, it is even more valuable than money. He wouldn't put it on the line just for one of his clients. The guy has done too much not to belive him. Period.
I really don't get it...It sounds like Tmac has said he is ready when in fact it was Grover. If it was Tmac, then I can understand harping on how he has said it in the past. Has Grover actually done or said anything when he didn't fully think so (I don't know, I'm actually asking here...)? From what I've read and seen of him in the past, he is reputable and isn't afraid to say what he thinks. Now if Tmac can play within a system or not is another question, but I don't think it's at all fair for us to suddenly doubt what Grover is saying if there is no evidence to do so...unless someone can provide me some.
I agree, I don't think Grover is lying either. But T-mac wasn't jumping up super high either - he wasn't dunking and exploding the way we are used to. Maybe it's mental. Maybe Grover is a trainer and not a basketball scout. Hmmmm. I hope T-mac finds a home and wins a ring somewhere. I hope he gets a chance to get that monkey off his back. So long as it's not against us.
Tracy obviously wants to go to NY. We should send his arse back to Toronto instead. Beggers can't be choosers.
