Well said sir. This is the exact reason why I could never Love T-Mac. I don't hate the guy and I wish him well, but I am glad he is gone. Our team is better for it and we would have never won a ring with him.
I wanted to be sure that you knew I didn't see this post until after I made my "toilet" response, not that it would have made much difference. I agree that "celebrating ONE win, over defining the entire career as a Rocket" can mean two entirely different things, but some events are so outstanding that no matter what the player's other history is, you honor the man for the things he did do. Ralph and The Shot. That season and the season before, when he appeared to be on his way to greatness. All the terrific games Max had, the way he could defend Jordan like no one else. And yes, Tracy and the 13 in 33. Some things ought to be left alone and in the vault of Rockets history, untarnished. That's the way I feel, at any rate.
Yao has done a much better job with his public and team relations and that is why he is cut more slack while being just as injury prone. Due to Yao's injury history I would absolutely trade him if the Rockets were given good value in return though. Yao's injury history means building around him after his current contract ends will continue to be very risky.
tracy's situation reminds me of ron artest. A guys past still haunts how people view him in the present. I dont think people will take away from what mcgrady did in orlando, but i can tell you this he hasnt been that same kid that he was since coming to houston. Im talking about his behavior, and people will overreact to anything and everything he says or does.
