Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine Spurs' fluid plan w/Spur For Life Tim Duncan: I'm told they'll pound out deal specifics & then finalize when timing meshes best w/other biz love this guy he really wants to win a championship after getting so close last year. Bring back Green, sign Lorbek, and De Colo, amnesty Bonner, and trade Blair. Possibly bring back Diaw, and get another mobile big man who can block shots, and rebound. Give it another run
I hope the Spurs can aim for Kenyon Martin as there fifth big Duncan/Diaw/Lorbek/Splitter/Martin big man rotation would probably be one of the best in the league.
Tim Duncan, now that's a team player. Finishing his career with the team/franchise he started out with, that's the way it should be. Respect.
The Spurs might need to use the money on a PG. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/olymp...ays-almost-lost-eye-drake-205635106--oly.html
I liked old Kenyon Martin better the first time he played for the Spurs - when his name was old Antonio McDyess.
I've always liked/respected Duncan and the Spurs. Even though they are Rocket's rivals they seem to know how to run an NBA team the right way. San Antonio is no sexy destination and Popovich is no easy going coach, but all of their stars are quite, content, disciplined, and get the job done on the floor.
