I have always respected Duncan as a player and person. I thought he would ride the bench for his last season.
Sad he is retiring. He was good for the game. Respect to the greatest PF of all time even if he was a Spur.
Damm, sad to see him retire. Enjoyed watching him over the last decade evwn though he was torching thw Rockets most of the time. First game I ever saw in person was Rockets vs Spurs back in 2005. Yao&Tmac vs Duncan/Parker/Ginobili. As others have mentioned, it's crazy how Kobe had a whole farwell tour thing and Duncan just quietly retires in the middle of the off season when nobody will talk about it. Kind of respresents Tim in a way though lol
1 of the GOATs. I was hoping he would play 1 more season to join Kobe in the 20 with 1 team group. However he knew when to retire, unlike Kobe as arno_ed mentioned. Much respect for him as a player & the way he conducted himself. Duncan, Parker & Manu all took less money to enable the Spurs to add pieces.

Just like him. No hype. Just quiet even as he leaves the game. No retirement tour. The guy killed my rockets in his prime but he is an All Time Great. Was still an good defender at his age. The game will miss him.
