Are you implying that Kobe, Nash, and LeBron are fake superstars? I mean, I agree that it would be better if people appreciated basketball for the team game that it is, but that's not what the general public wants. Magic & Bird kicked off the era of superstar marketing and Jordan took it to the next level. This is just the general progression.

Same thing as Vick speaking out against dog fighting. They realize what they did was wrong, changed, and are now against it.

Agreed. 5 fouls on Chandler? He had some bad calls against him, which led to Haywood getting minutes and missing dunks.

    Refs were atrocious?

Dallas shot more free throws than Miami.

Your observation is lame. The difference in the game was that the mavs couldn't hit shots because of defense. Period

The Heat are just better than Dallas, get over it

LOL you guys are just wasting your time.

I can see it now every time the heat win it was because the refs rigged it.

there were a few bad calls here and there but no more or less than any other night. Refs didnt cost the Mavs to lose

Yeah Mavs inability to get the all to Dirk lost the game.

Everybody with a brain knows that the NBA is rigged and everybody knows that Miami was supposed to win, especially everybody on Dallas (given how they lost in 2006). They should be expecting that and adapt (ie executing) which they did not do. They were unable to get Dirk the ball down the stretch, instead letting losers like Terry/Barea take ridiculously stupid shots. Their inability to execute lost them the game.

But yeah the reffing was horrible. Refs did a great job (at attempting to rig). Every time Dallas went on a run, they would call a random (nonexistant) foul on Chandler to quiet the momentum. Disgusting yet effective (given what it was that they were trying to do).

If the NBA is rigged, why are you watching it?

Why not watch a non rigged playoff like Hockey or go watch Glee or something??

Because I am hoping to see teams fight and prevail despite horrible refs (or just hoping the Rockets can pull away with a victory).

then tell the refs to let the heat guard dirk. breathing on dirk is not a foul.

but i guess you didn't see it that way. they did foul dirk everytime right?

that's likely due to the amount of zone the Mavs played last night.

Still, even while watching the game, the one thing I noted to myself was that it seemed like the game was being called fairly. Some questionable calls on Dirk at the end (the swipe of the ball from Bosh - hard to tell if it was a foul, the over the back rebound, looked like he just put his hands up and grabbed the ball), but then you could question calls the other way, too.

Seemed fairly called... which is pretty amazing, really.

Does anyone has the video on LeBron shuffling his feet a few times before he shot an air ball when the shot clock expired? No replay because it wasn't a made shot. (And no commentator mentioned about it.) But I thought the traveling was worse than the one the OP showed.

it was a perfectly called game considering you had 4 all-stars in that game. dirk got the most calls in that game, and he had a few questionable calls.

dallas also got a few questionable calls (that dirk slap was NOT a foul), but then dirk got 4 ft attempts on the other end on very little to no contact.

but a few missed calls are expected in every game, let alone a game of this magnitude.

if the game is called like this every game, the finals will be perfect.

dallas simply has to make shots. their defense can't hold down lebron/wade the whole game, and they did an awesome job through 3 quarters. if they can't score, this could be over in 5 games.

Dirk was getting hacked by Haslem all night.

And compare the timings of the bad calls against Miami and the "bad" calls against Dallas.

The finals will be reffed like that most of the series (maybe even a game or two favoring Dallas to keep the series interesting). What Dallas has to do is EXECUTE down the stretch. Get the ball to Dirk and let him do work. And bench Terry in the fourth quarter, the guy is trash.

The same refs theory comes out again. Just watch the game, see what Wade had done in the game 1, who played the same level vs. the Mav in 2006.
The refs fix the game? It sounds like a great idea when you can not guard somebody.
