I have no problem with your line of thinking.

I hope the players realize what the consequences of their actions are going to end up being. This really isn't even about the owners, this is about the NBA losing money and they're going to lose a lot of money so they need to prepare themselves for the inevitable.

This was such a painfully obvious factor. To everyone saying “shut up and play”. Whether you like it or not, the players watch the news and have an opinion about Trump’s response to BLM. No one is saying it’s illegal for Tillman to support Trump, but actions have consequences. I remember players threatening to boycott the Rams when Rush Limbaugh expresses interest in buying them.

I hate this hyper-partisan era; but some figures stand out more than others. Guys like Trump and Rush are extremely polarizing. Very much doubt Harden or Russ would care if Tillman liked John McCain or Mitt Romney. Trumpism and the NBA simply do not mix. It sucks but I completely understand why Russ and Harden want to leave

That is dumb, over 75% of the Billionaire owners support the Republican Party.... So what, I think Tillman getting rid of James and Westbrook now makes sense. Neither James or Westbrook are going to get better as they age. Especially Westbrook. James defense is definitely going to get worse. His offense may stay top 10 for next 3 years but his D will regress...

We need to give Tillman and his new team props for recognizing that this team wouldn't have aged well and paying James and Russell almost $100 mln made zero sense when there is no chance at an NBA title...

There's almost no chance Harden cares about this.

If anything what would piss me off is not that he supports Trump. It's the fact that you donated money that you supposedly don't have to pay a coach or make a better roster and gave it to someone I dislike. That is what would make me say go F* yourself! You don't want to pay D'Antoni but you donated how much to Trumps campaign? Priorities Mr. Poortita! Trump isn't going to boost your sales on Rockets merchandise or give you better national media coverage. Hell he hasn't even really bailed out your businesses during Covid! The Rockets winning a championship will with a championship James Harden promoting your spots! If Trump promotes your business your Casinos will be filled with a bunch of Proudboys bangin their cousins!

You CAN support who you want. And the players can support who they want. Players are not robots.

Makes sense to me. Why would you want to play for and bust your ass to win for an owner who supports a racist clod like Trump?? Tillman is officially the worst owner in the NBA and everybody knows it.

    Bummer.

+5M difference in popular vote is not a hair.

And when Trump won 306 electoral votes it was a LANDSLIDE.

    Where did you learn math?

NBA players refuse to go to the White House.100% it’s a factor.

I don’t understand how Tilman can be so tone deaf. Even If he likes Trump, keep it on the down low man. Ya don’t have to blow him. It destroys our ability to lane free agents.

I think this part, at least, has to be true. I can’t imagine a universe where it wouldn’t be, for virtually any Black player, especially this year. And if they do feel this way, well, they’re right.

I'm pretty sure many NBA players and other multi millionaire to billionaire people vote Republican to cushion their tax burden but don't publically announce it. Think about it guys
