Instead of paying 37 million for Iggy, Tilman could go on Shark Tank, buy into every bullshit business idea that comes on the show for 2 months and still have money leftover. AND he'd have pieces of potential money makers.

It still comes down to whether the owner is committed to having a $132 million team or a $149 million team. Those are two different playing fields. If we want to have $149 in salaries to be able to trade for a third star without losing both Gordon and Capela, we have to add salary now or never. Once this trade goes down and/or Shump signs somewhere, this opportunity is lost. Unless Shump agrees to sign with us for a $13.2 million non-guaranteed deal that we can trade come 12/15.

Tilman can always go the Les route by not paying his star players their promised salaries like what he did with Barkley

Iguodala is 35 and injury prone player for the last 3 years and wouldn't even go after this dude!. I rather see Faried suiting up next year!

If you would rather have Faried over Iguodala, then you either don’t know anything about basketball or are Kenneth Faried’s mom.

If every owner were to assign the tax cost as a judgement on the value/cost solely of that of the player to be signed, not many teams would have ever been in the tax.

Was Livingston/Iggy worth 2 to 3 times their contracts in 17 when the Warriors resign them? Were any of the role players signed by the Miami heatles, Lebron's Cavs, Dirk's Mavs, Kobe's Lakers, Pops Spurs and Shaq's Lakers worth double or triple their contract? Probably very few could be said to be worth double or more their salary, but thats the wrong question. As the question should be, is it worth it to the team.

The tax isn't going to the player nor is it caused by that singular player signing, but its rather the entire team. So the question becomes, is the team worth it? Is a chance for winning the championship worth it. Since 2000, 15 of he past 19 championship team, answered YES.

He needs to save his money to sign more G League players.

I don't think Tillman is willing to go into the luxury tax for Iggy unless signing iggy really is the difference maker in winning a ring. I mean we are talking about an old Iggy that even Golden State traded away. If were talking about Kevin Love on the other hand or another big name player I'm sure he'd be all over that. That is however just my speculation.

As a fan of both the Clippers and Rockets I can understand why neither team wants to buck into Memphis Iggy's trade demands. For the Rockets, they don't feel Iggy is worth the huge luxury tax payment and pick compensation that would ensue from a sign and trade. That's understandable since Iggy is 35 and not a regular season player. For the Clippers they won't want to trade a young Mo Harkless (and probably more assets) who is only 26 and unlike Iggy can be used as a regular season player to help load manage both Paul George and Kawhi Leonard.

I think both the Clippers and Rockets should wait out Memphis. Let the Grizzlies buy him out. They already got compensated with a pick when they traded for Iggy, screw giving them more assets for a player who is not in their future anyway. Let a bought out Iggy decide what team he wants to play for.

Why trade for Iggy now and give up assets when he be possibly had later for free. Both the Clippers and Rockets are prime free agent destinations. Wait the stupid bears out.

Tilman was honest when he said,
He changed his mind. He did not buy any draft picks in June.
    He still wants saving.

better yet, Tilman should trade Westbrook for expiring contracts, then he'd not only save 40+ million per year for the next 3 years but by investing it, he'd be earning interests at the same time!

What about the Rockets? They'd still have Harden so the team will certainly still be competitive, (tho not contenders) and more importantly making mucho dinero!

If it were Kawhi of course It’s worth it. But paying 17 mil + 20+ mil Tax for Iggy? Considering he’s resting half of the game, he is definitely not worth paying almost 40Mil for.

Not wanting to pay a first round pick, as well as Iggy's contract in addition to the tax is a reasonable stance.

Not using the trade/shumpert to at the very least acquire someone like Crowder and instead go into the season relying on DHouse as the only backup 3&D forward is simply being cheap & short sighted.

Trust that if they do, the excuse will be for flexibility and not tax savings.

Love how fans are counting Tillman’s pockets for him. And Iggy price tag keeps going up. “Would you pay 30 mil for Iggy?” Two posts later..

“would you pay 50 MILLION DOLLARS for him?”

Won’t be long before his price tag will be a billion.

Andre Iguodala is basically Trevor Ariza role

Trevor Ariza has been a regular season player, plays mediocre in big games, misses big shots (he logged so many minutes, when Luc Mbah Moute got injured)

Trevor is durable, very healthy plays a lot of games.

Andre Iguodala is a better player, better dribbler, really good passer, can come up clutch shots, great defense in critical moments, locker room leader.
Doesn't play regular season games much, a bench player. He rests during the regular, in order to play in the playoffs.
