Nashville’s fun, but gotten to commercial and the food is so/so. The little towns around it have a bunch of great food, breweries, wineries, and affordable music scene then any place in the South I’ve visited. Need to rent a car though.
The Process is a great Center. Give him a shot and he plays 30 games for you. Likewise the Alphabet Freak.
Haha, way to take a step back and follow Trump. Leave the business to the ball minds of Patrick, Rafael and Imay. Let's buy the NHL team then, and we can talk Hockey in here......
Owners gonna own... lol I'm just thankful that I havent seen Tillman's face all season... come to think of it... i doubt i could pick Patrick out of a lineup... lol
I think he is trying to get a NHL team I remember they interviewed him about WNBA & NHL at a press conference and he said he was working on both. He made due on the Comets, so I suppose he is actively trying to get an NHL team too. While I definitely don’t think he’s the best owner. He is making due on bringing more pro sports team back to Houston and I do think he stepped out the way. Now the problem is we need him to actually care again to fire the GM & Coach who’s ruining his team / asset. ironic right?
He is definitely investing in the Houston sports area in general, yes. Where he lacks is that he does not seem to have long lasting interest. (No follow up) And then he just passes on the Rockets like sloppy seconds/thirds to his son and Rafael Stone, that should not happen. He also makes spectacles out of it, like the Westbrook trade and the Practice facility, then vanishes afterwards.....
I guess the issue is he needs a real business / basketball mind that can run it where he stays hands off I saw someone else in a thread mention he should try to hire bob meyer for basketball president. Not sure if Jerry West is still in good condition or working but I would def try to get a bob meyer / Jerry west type or both , maybe even a former coach also and then a solid analytics person to combine them with but the analytics guys would be last in the hierarchy. And Patrick and Ime would have to listen to them and not the other way around. The only power Patrick would have is over the budget and if he agreed to sign off or not
Ime and Rafael would have been fired endless times by the Denver ownership right now..... A stark contrast I know but being at the other end of the extremes not great either.
It's easy being an NBA team owner if you have the money. You buy the team. Hire someone to run it. It doesn't matter if the team is competitive. You make money regardless. The NBA system does not punish bad ownership. Unless the guy does something blatantly unethical, he can just sit there. And if he's tired of it, he can sell it making several folds.
Not just unethical. If they don’t follow the company line, they will be run off. It’s just big business and they all get rich off the West Coast and East Coast teams. There is no need for parity with the giant TV contracts, mafia connections, and monopoly protections.
Fertitta has 300+ businesses and is Ambassador to Italy for some reason. Rockets get 1/300 of his attention and it shows. He probably doesn’t even know or care who Raphael Stone is other than another of his tens of thousands employees.
