I rather have Tilman instead of Les. Les would have been totally content to trot out Wall, KPJ, and Wood year after year and end the season just outside of lottery if it meant more ticket money.
Someone needs to risk it all and take back our 2 trophies from Les Jong Alexander’s home in Boca or Del Ray. @tinman
Where's the new training facility? You know how many empty warehouses there are available in Houston right now? It could take him a WEEK to build out a half ass decent facility but keep riding with that high school looking gym.
Championship? What championship? Harden was too busy becoming fat Elvis and wanted out. Whether by accident or by design he has set us up well. I am not a Tilman only fan so don’t tase me bro
championship level... c'mon everybody wants to play the 'hamstring away' rhetoric... we had a championship contending team... if u want to be literal... lol
i disagree... i think Harden was/is a narcissistic ass and Morey was/is his enabler... while MDA was a stubborn fool trying to be revered as an offensive guru rather than optimizing the hand he was dealt... and then you layer the stupidity & cheapness that is TF onto all of that... and our championship level team was never able to come to fruition... but make no mistake... that CP3 team was a championship level team... and hubris, ego, and cheapness prevented at least 1 championship... imo
Uh, they are doing what they set out to accomplish... losing when they are trying to win couldn't happen until 2023 so we'll find out then...
Think before you comment. Your star players tells you get this 40 million dollar Chris Paul out of here and i would like to play with Westbrook. Piss off your star or do what he wants as you always do and try to make best of it? What other deal was out there for Paul and his 40 million? What contracts are you taking back? It's as dumb a comment as saying John Wall is the exact opposite player Stone would want to build around... he's hurt a bunch and doesn't space the floor. Did he have a better option to move Westbrook?
So you actually think James Harden worked out that deal and went to TF with it? Talk about naive... Morey is some great GM but can't say no to Harden... right?
Tilman literally admitted he was the one that forced this deal through, this isn't my opinion. Harden told Tilman he wouldn't mind playing with Westbrook, and f**ktard told Morey to make it happen. And no, a GM can't say no to their boss.
He didn't force it. He supported it... stop making things up... here's the quote: "I was in Europe, and so I was six or seven hours ahead of them. So I’m talking at 2, 3, 4 in the morning. And we just decided to do it. They ran different statistics by me. My basketball ops [operations] got maybe a little weak at the end, and I just said, ‘We’re doing this. We are going to make the change. We’re going to go after it and roll the dice. We’re going to find that 5 percent.’" Notice his basketball people came to him? Why was it brought to him in the first place? Yes, he pushed it through at the end; but it wasn't his idea... But I like your plan too to get strip club Harden a year sooner and be tanking even sooner... Half effort Harden would have taken us to the championship right?
It doesn't matter what business you're in, you don't get extra credit for driving something into the ground and then coming to your senses and reviving it by keeping your hands off and letting smart people do their job. It doesn't work that way. About the best we can say about Tilman is he's doing better as an owner, maybe he has learned something, and hopefully he'll continue. That's a lot. He should be grateful if people see it that way.
Awww.. I've been here much longer than you big guy. Can't help if some fans can't see the light. I can only hope to maybe wake you up.
Umm, The whole point of my posts was to say that he didn't try and put butt in the seats at the expense of this team long term success. Gm's have to run big decisions by the owner. That is the direction the owner ultimately chooses. I would rather make less money so that the Rockets can be more successful later on. He deserves 100% credit for that while there are other owners going after fringe all stars in free agency in order to make runs at the back end of the playoff seeding. This isn't a hard concept to understand. Tilman has chosen the best path for the Houston Rockets, not his wallet.
